Look of the Day: Oscar De La Renta

Who doesn’t love a good Oscar De La Renta gown? Celebs like Anne Hathaway, Jennifer Garner and Penelope Cruz are just few of the many A-Listers sporting Oscar’s gorgeous gowns on more than one occasion. The Oscars (no pun intended) are coming up very soon. I would love to see this gown on Jennifer Garner but that’s up to her stylist (who happens to be my fashion idol) Rachel Zoe. If not her…I would like to see this dress on SOMEBODY because it’s too fabulous not to be rocked on the Red Carpet. But that’s just my opinion…what’s yours?

Trend Alert: Sheer Sleeves

Sheer tops and dresses were a big hit for Spring 2010 but the Fall 2010 runways were swarmed with a different approach to this trend…sheer sleeves. Although we saw some full-on sheer garments, we saw mostly sheer sleeves on the Fall runways. And I loved every second of it!

Here are some sheer-sleeve looks straight off  the runways from New York Fashion Week:

I think this is a more practical trend for the everyday woman (compared to a completely sheer garment) because it’s not the everyday woman who can necessarily pull off a completely sheer top with nothing but a bra underneath. Not only do I love this trend because it’s more practical and wearable but it’s a great piece to wear in the fall or the spring. I love sheer-sleeve dresses because it’s that subtleness of the sheer sleeves that makes you feel sexy yet sophistacated. Although most of the sheer-sleeves on the runways were black, this look can go for any color. I prefer it in a neutral (black, grey, beige, brown) but if you find a great sheer-sleeve top or dress is a bold or pastel color…go for it!

Here are some sheer pieces I found that can work with any wardrobe on any budget:

Top Row (left to right): Miu Miu Silk-Chiffon Blouse ($645 at net-a-porter.com), Long Sleeve Sheer Stripe Crew Neck Top ($17 at styleforless.com), Emilio Pucci Two-Layer Sheer Tulle Dress ($1,334 at net-a-porter.com)

Bottom Row (left to right): Free People Teatime Turtleneck ($35 at bloomingdales.com), L-Agence Cotton-Blend Crochet Sweater ($200 at net-a-porter.com), Patterson J. Kincaid Egyptian Dress ($150 at piperlime.gap.com)

What do you think of the sheer-sleeve trend? Would you wear it? Do you like it better than the completely sheer garments? How would you wear it? I want to know what you think!

Look of the Day: Tracy Reese

Tracy Reese is one of my favorite designers when it comes to more practical, wearable clothes that make you feel fashionable and fabulous. Her Fall 2010 RTW collection consists of lots of layering and various textures. I really love the dress in the photo because it’s flirty and fun. I especially love a dress like this paired with dark tights/boots because it gives this “girly” dress a cool edge. That’s just my opinion though…I want to hear yours!

Hudson Introduces the Baby Boot Jean

From guest blogger, David James…check him out on twitter @jamesda1

The HUDSON Baby Boot is a fresh interpretation of the most widely adopted style and staple in premium denim, the classic Boot Cut. This new style, launching at the end of January, hits perfectly at the ankle for a silhouette that is both flirty and refined. With slight flare, the look is chic, versatile and flattering. The Baby Boot was inspired by the 60s, British pop and Rock n’ Roll.

The HUDSON Baby Boot will be available on the fashion shopping site What Goes Around Comes Around. Additional washes will be released in April. Check out www.hudsonjeans.com for more information.

Also be sure to check out out HUDSON on Facebook and Twitter to stay on top of the latest news!

Loving this new look. I would pair this with a cool tank or rocker t-shirt with some fun gladiator-type sandals. A vest would work too. Anything goes!

Look of the Day: Monique Lhuillier

Monique Lhuillier is a favorite when it comes to the Red Carpet. Worn by A-List celebs like Drew Barrymore, Mila Kunis and Kristen Bell, it’s not often you you won’t find at least one celeb sporting the latset by Monique Lhuillier. Her dresses are perfection and this look was one of my favorites from Fall 2010 RTW. It can be controversial though, which is why I’m taking it to the polls. It’s up to you to decide now!
