Sneak Peak: Reese Witherspoon on Glamour’s January Cover

Reese Witherspoon in Burberry Prorsum on the cover of the January issue of Glamour.

A sneak peak at the interview with Reese…

On how getting older makes her feel sexier…
“I think as a woman, you get older, you feel more confident in your sexuality. You’re not as intimidated by it, not as embarrassed by it. Sexuality and femininity is an accumulation of age and wisdom and comfort in your own skin. I feel better—so much better now than I ever did in my twenties. I am calmer; I know who I am. And as a result, I feel much sexier.”

On women in Hollywood…
“There’s always going to be somebody younger or sexier. That’s why I like to say, and it’s become my famous line, ‘Funny doesn’t sag.’”

On having more kids…
“I would love to have more kids. Kids are the best part of my day. I don’t wake up to make movies. I wake up to hang out with my family.”

On how her goals have changed since making Legally Blonde
“My ambition has sort of broadened. I’m more interested in literature, art, public policy. And I’m really interested in doing more philanthropic endeavors.”

On her life…
“I’m really, really lucky. I’ve got a lot of love in my life. I’ve got great friends. I have two great kids whom I make pancakes forevery Sunday. I’m very blessed.”

On making romantic comedies…
“I love romantic comedies. I watch them all the time. I love all my fellow female romantic comedy queens, like Jennifer Aniston, Jennifer Garner and Katie Heigl. I also think that the questions romantic comedies ask about men and women are universal.”

Must Read Blog: Chicago Streetstyle Scene

From the hottest fashion events to spotting fashion in the streets, Amy Creyer of Chicago Streetstyle Scene has become one of my favorite resources for Chicago fashion. Her blog truly shows how stylish Chicagoans are. It’s very exciting to have someone (who is quite handy with the camera by the way) capture the most fashionable moments on the streets of the Windy City.

What I find to be the coolest part about Chicago Streestyle Scene is that you can browse by month, name, and even LOCATION. Amy has mapped out where each photo has been taken and you can see exactly who has been photographed in what areas. From Bucktown and Lincoln Park to River North and the West Loop, you will find some VERY stylish people on these streets of Chicago.

Some of my favorite Chicago Streetstyle Scene spottings…

Whether it’s a summer music festival or even in transit on the L…you never know where you’ll find Amy! Who knows? Maybe you will be featured on Chicago Streetstyle Scene soon…

Where to Find Looks For Less: Runway Rundown

When it comes to high fashion, we are always quick to turn to the top designers, but we are hesitant when we see a hefty price tag. Fortunately, there is Runway Rundown, a free online resource where you can find the hottest trends for less.

Search by season, color, designer, material or trend, Runway Rundown links you directly to the website where you can purchase these amazing looks for less, and exactly how much it will cost you.

A look from Elie Tahari Spring 2011…for $163?! Amazing.

This dress is almost identical to the Marchesa…and it’s less than $500!

It’s not easy to find quality looks like are almost identical to those seen on celebrities or on the runway, so I can definitely appreciate the time that goes into Runway Rundown. Definitely one of the best “looks for less” websites out there!

Visit www.runwayrundown.com and look like you walked straight off the runway…for MUCH less!

The High Low: Tim Gunn Interviews Suanna Moyer

I believe Tim Gunn to be one of the most influential people in the fashion industry, so I’m always interested in his interviews…whether he is interviewing or the one being interviewed, I love Tim too much to pass it up!

Recently, he interviewed Susanna Moyer, Vice President of Design at Liz Claiborne, whom he met at Parsons a while back. This interview is the first part of a three-part series where Tim and Susanna discuss her role in the fashion industry, her success story, and more.
