ADAM Fall 2010 RTW

Late last fall, in a NYC apartment, I stood mesmerized in front of a painting by Isca Greenfield-Sanders. From her show “Against The Fall,” a play on the words ‘para’ or against, and ‘chute,’ the French word for fall, this work was of a parachute jumper, floating downward through dark yet opaque panels in shades of black. Her experimentation with color, texture, lightness and line inspired the beginning of this Fall 2010 Collection.

This was the front cover of the packet carefully placed on each seat at the ADAM show this past Saturday. The words came from Adam Lippes himself as he explained the inspiration behind his Fall 2010 RTW Collection. There were chunky knits, sequins, lots of amazing outerwear, neutrals, red, and some GREAT dresses. The best part about the collection is that it was wearable yet modern and chic. I would wear any of these pieces in a heartbeat.

Although I truly loved each piece, I had to choose some favorites. Here are my favorite pieces from the ADAM Fall 2010 RTW Collection:

This is not just any ordinary gold dress. The golden-bronzed textured fabric looks amazing at all angles and really makes it stick out from the rest. The cut and shape of the dress is actually one of my favorites to wear. I find this look is glamorous yet hip and paired with the tights; it’s perfect for fall.

I don’t think words can express how much I love this look. I wish someone could have captured my reaction when it walked down the runway because that would best explain it. The dress is simple and absolutely gorgeous and the vest just completes the look. A small thing, like the gold vest, can really make a difference and it clearly pulled together this entire look. Two words: LOVE IT.

I absolutely love the color of this dress. I think it would look great on any skintone. Then pair it with a more casual, neutral jacket spruced up with fur lining? Can you ask for anything better??  One of my favorite runway looks. Ever.

Although I am an avid dress lover, I cannot forget about the separates. I absolutely adore a full skirt because they are fun and flirty. Then Adam comes in and puts a twist on it with a black leather trim and black leather detailing and we take this wardrobe staple to another level. Pairing it with the blazer made the look sophisticated yet feminine and it was absolute perfection. This look is quite versatile. Wear it to work, shopping during the day, or dinner with friends…the possibilities are endless.

I am really big on sheer long sleeves and I love dresses with sequins, shimmer or shine…so basically, this look defines my life. Sheer long sleeves are the best subtle way to be sexy yet stylish. Although I love the sleeves, the dress without them is equally as fabulous. The detailing is impeccable. If/when this dress becomes available, I will be the first to purchase it. You have my word.

Not only was I obsessed with the clothes, I loved the hair and makeup. The messy braid (in many shapes & forms) is very in for spring 2010 and fall 2010 and the neutral makeup was flawless and beautiful. And not only did I love the hair and makeup, I couldn’t stop dancing to the music. I literally had to stop myself because I realized I was the only one bopping around haha. Thanks to my handy iPhone application, Shazam, I found the songs from the show! I highly recommend downloading them. “Psychic City (Voodoo City)” by YACHT and “Only Love Can Break Your Heart” by Saint Etienne.
