More Coffee, Please

Although it’s not Monday, it’s still the beginning of the week…which means an endless amount of Instagrams that involve “more” + “coffee” in some combination. We get it! You didn’t get enough sleep last night (which I’m sure is especially true this morning for any Blackhawks fans) and now you’re feeling it. But this post isn’t necessarily about drinking your caffeine, it’s about USING IT.

Coffee beauty products are no new thing. Whether it’s a straight up scrub made of coffee grounds or eye creams using coffee extract, this amazing caffeinated beverage that I absolutely cannot live without can be a part of our morning routine in more than one way. If you’re not a coffee drinker (for one, I don’t understand that concept) but maybe you can be a coffee user.

Besides making you more awake and function like a real human being, coffee offers other benefits like reducing eye puffiness. It constricts the blood vessels which then reduces swelling / puffiness. The less puffy the better, right? (I guess not when it comes to marshmallows…all other instances I would say less puff is good). Like I mentioned with coffee grounds, they make for a solid scrub. Typically an oil is added for moisture and easy application. It makes for a great DIY project, but if you’re like me and prefer not to do it yourself (except that one time…) you’re going to be quite happy about what I’m going to tell you in a minute. But first, what else can this miracle bean do? It’s known for helping minimize the appearance of cellulite (although temporary) / tightening skin. Now I knew most of this but one thing I didn’t know is that it apparently is good for your hair as well. I’ve only used eye creams with coffee extract as well as coffee scrubs, but [to my knowledge at least] I’ve never had coffee in my hair. It’s supposed to add shine, stimulate hair growth and even enhance color (for brunettes, I assume). If that’s true, I would save so much money on my ever-growing “roots” problem (yay aging!)

So if coffee in beauty products is no new thing, why am I writing about it now? Well, I’m glad you asked. I recently came across the best thing that’s ever happened to coffee + beauty, and not just for its skin benefits. Let’s be frank…you need to know about Frank.

I’m already sort of biased towards anything that comes out of Australia (as I feel like I may have been an Aussie in a previous life…I’m obsessed with everything they do, especially in fashion and beauty) so it’s no surprise I’m going to be a fan of Frank Body. Not only do they make a variety of scrubs (as well as moisturizers and cleansers) but their branding is SPOT ON. The scrubs actually look like a bag of coffee you’d buy from a roaster, the products aren’t tested on animals (specifically they are “only tested on babes”), and their instructions are a little sexual (but in a fun and playful way). Even the top of the bags say tear my top off. Oh Frank, you’re too much!

You really have to just experience Frank for yourself. Anything I tell you won’t do it justice (with regards to the product or the packaging!)

Do you currently use any coffee beauty products? Any you’ve tried in the past that you absolutely love and you’d like to share with the world? COME ON, DON’T BE SHY. Okay that’s just the caffeine talking. And speaking of caffeine…
