What Why Where: Fall Transition, Chicago Style

Greetings from Chicago, the only city where it can be 50 degrees one day and 90 the next. So what’s a girl to wear in this sort of situation? Here’s an idea.

We’re getting to that time of year where it’s time to make the big transition…I need to put away my little spotted white romper and opt for closed toe shoes, slightly heavier materials and more sleeves. So here’s what I’m thinking…

Will you accept this rose?

hahahahaha NO.

WHAT TIME IS IT?

Time for you to get a watch (or transition your wardrobe…either one).

WHAT (am I wearing):
Shirt: Tome. Shorts: APC. Shoes: Stella McCartney. Sunglasses: Mykita x Margiela.

WHY (am I wearing it):
The big transition can be tough, especially when you live in Chicago. So I typically keep all sorts of layering options available because you really never know what’s going to hit you. We see a lot of vests, light jackets, cropped pants, and ankle boots this time of year. So I thought I’d take things in a bit of a different direction with a tie-back button-down, wool shorts and platform brogues. What do you expect from me…a boring outfit? (although I do wear those quite often). I actually haven’t worn these shorts in a while so I thought I’d bring them back (as there aren’t many occasions in life for wool shorts). I rarely wear a button down but this one is just so damn cool, I couldn’t resist the opportunity. And you know those Stellas are making their way back with the cooler weather about to go down. Thought I was done with them last season? THINK AGAIN.

WHERE (can you get the look):
