Aaahh!!! Real [Fendi] Monsters

If you thought the 90s Nickelodean hit Aaahh!!! Real Monsters was awesome (because let’s be honest, it was) just wait until you see what Fendi is doing this Fall/Winter season.

Fendi just went in a very…interesting…direction in the accessories department and I just can’t help but smile, laugh a little, and wonder if monsters are the new camo.

I have to assume they’re related but Fendi just released these “bag bugs” (because they know that everyone is so eager to have a furry personality dangling from their handbag) as well as this monster collection (yes, everything looks like a monster on purpose). It’s weird but you know I appreciate weirdness, especially when it comes to fashion.

The best part about these bag bugs, though, is this brilliant video Fendi put together that actually makes me kind of want a nearly $700 fur keychain (although there are many other things in life I’d rather spend $700 on…like pizza and Proenza).

Come on. Look me in the eye (or in this case, the computer screen) and tell me that isn’t the best hump day treat you’ve ever received (even better than Mrs. George’s mocktails in Mean Girls). And if it’s not, this stoner-monster-bug hybrid will definitely do the trick.

What I find the most entertaining about this whole thing (besides that video of course) is the fact that these are sold out everywhere online…and they launched just this week. So, you may think these are ridiculous but Fendi is laughing all the way to the bank…while I continue to laugh at Mr. Mary Jane (which I just named that fur ball pictured above).

Now if you’re really in need of a Fendi furry friend (that doesn’t look like much of a friend though) this should be able to hold you over in the mean time. If not, Saks has quite the variety of Fendi monsters (with and without fur…even a “reasonably priced” $270 keychain as well as a furry Baguette).

I know everyone is not on board with the whole fur thing and I get it, but with that aside…what do you think of these furry guys? If money were no object, would you buy any of these bag bugs or “monster” accessories?
