What Why Where: Mega Mall

What to do when you’re wearing a ridiculously loud dress and happen to come across [what I’m calling] the street art festival of the season? THIS!!

More than 20 artists were painting various murals on the abandoned Discount Mega Mall in Logan Square and my timing could not have been more perfect. If you guys are in the area (Milwaukee / Sacramento) I would check it out ASAP as it looks like it’s not going to be around much longer!

WHAT (am I wearing):
Dress: Mary Katrantzou x Adidas. Shoes: Lacoste. Sunglasses: The Row x Oliver Peoples.

WHY (am I wearing it):
Although I’ve been in mostly neutrals lately, I have to go back to my [colorful] roots every once in a while and really shove some bold hues in your face. I showed you one of my favorite pieces from the Mary Katrantzou x Adidas collaboration last summer and I’m doing it all over again for Summer ’16 (playing dirty not clean). There is a lot to this dress so I left everything else very simple. Being a printed maxi dress, you’d think it’s something you can dress up or down but considering its sporty nature, it’s best paired with sneakers or sandals. And when I just need a plain old white sneaker, these Lacoste guys are my go-to. In general, I’m not super into maxi dresses but when they’re as Sporty Spice awesome as this one, I sure can make an exception. This is one of those outfits I can wear all day and all night…and still feel great in (all too often you just want to change at the end of the day but why would you ever want to change out of this?!) So for anyone who’s been wanting to try a sporty dress or a maxi and sneakers, now is the time to go for it!

A special shoutout to Sentrock for being awesome (and making yet another appearance on CCF!)
