What Why Where: Spring Fever

It’s safe to say that us Chicagoans feel quite cheated. Temperatures creeped up, we got to 75 on Monday (I don’t think I’ve ever seen that many happy people on a Monday) and now it looks like we’re going to stay in the 40s for quite a while. With these we’re so damn close to spring temps, what on EARTH are we supposed to wear? Here’s an idea…

Leather. Sneakers. Camel coat. Sound good? Good.

WHAT (am I wearing):

WHY (am I wearing it):
As per usual, I wanted a dressy vs. casual look. If I had just worn this with heels, there would have been a totally different vibe, as the shirt is quite dressy and leather pants can go either way. But of course, I had to balance it all out with some sneakers (the new Rodarte x Superga collaboration might I add, which is AWESOME). These are actually a fancier sneaker, as if you can see closely they have a little shine mixed in with some tweed. There’s something about the combination of leather pants and sneakers that just gets me (sort of like lipstick and sweatpants). Because it’s still pretty chilly, a light spring jacket isn’t happening for us just yet but I don’t want to go all the way for the puffer. So I opted for this camel coat that’s really the perfect weight for this time of year. I can belt it, drape it, or just wear it open (which I usually do) and the beauty of the camel coat is that it can be worn in pretty much any setting. Who doesn’t love a good versatile piece? But my favorite part about my spring fever is that I’m going to ditch the beanies that have matted down my hair for months, and add a little hair flair. I’ve been really feeling hair accessories as of late, especially this Gabriela Artigas beauty. I had seen it on Shopbop but once we met in real life at space519…I knew it was meant to be.
