Personal Style with Atelier AZZA

If you haven’t heard of AZZA by Azeeza Desai Kahn, then note that you will be hearing much of her soon (and remember you heard it on ChiCityFashion first). With her use high quality fabrics, vibrant colors, unique embellishments and the most amazing studs and beading you’ll ever see…what more is there to want? Oh and she’s based in Chicago…even better!

I recently purchased a few of AZZA’s signature blazers and I’ve been dying to share them with you….but I had to make sure I could schedule a photoshoot with Amy Creyer of Chicago Street Style so I could ensure the photos would be perfect!

Dalla Nonna Calendar Necklaces

I recently came across a really unique jewelry line (which happens to be based in Chicago!) that’s known for these special calendar necklaces. They come in silver, rose gold, white gold and yellow gold with a variety of stones that can be placed on a meaningful date. Whether it’s an anniversary, birthday or any other special occasion, I think these necklaces make THE perfect gift.

Modahnik Spring/Summer 2012

Often in Chicago, or any other city where it’s freezing most of the year, we tend to resort to black and neutrals. But local designer Kahindo Mateene is challenging that.

Starting her colorful clothing line Modahnik just 2 years ago, Kahindo has now earned one of those coveted spots as a Designer in Residence for the Chicago Fashion Incubator program. Her unique prints and amazing use of color is what really makes her designs stand out. I love the combination of feminine silhouettes with the bold use of fabrics. Modahnik fun fact–all of her designs are produced in Africa using sustainable fair trade practices. Awesome!

Here’s a look at a few of my favorite looks from Modahnik Spring/Summer 2012.
