Well-Rounded

When you think of a clutch, the shape that typically comes to mind is a rectangle…right? (unless your favorite designer is Jil Sander, and in that case you’d probably answer lunchbag or triangle). Whether it’s a pouch, an envelope clutch, or a wristlet…odds are it’s rectangular (or in the case of Charlotte Olympia, a toucan).

But if you’re looking to change things up in the handbag department and be a little more well-ROUNDED then you’re in luck.

What’s That You’re Carrying?

As you may have noticed from past posts on ChiCityFashion, I seem to have a thing for weird t-shirts and sweaters. So it should be no surprise to you that I’m also into quirky clutches. How great is it to hold something that evokes the question, “What’s that you’re carrying? It can’t be…”

Clutch vs. Pouch

Have you ever looked in that glass case at Neimans and wonder why those tiny McQueen clutches are a minimum of $2,000? Or Judith Leiber “bags” (more like figurines) can cost over $5,000? Although small in size, designer clutches do not come cheap. Contemporary ones can be under $1,000 (or close to it) and designer goes way beyond the $1k mark. So I have a secret to let you in on where you can get high end clutches for way less.

Currently Obsessing Over: Proenza Schouler Evening Clutch

Happy Friday all!

I’m going to spend my weekend starring at these Proenza Schouler evening clutches so I thought you could do the same…

Not only is is the perfect size, but it’s a great structured silhouette and I love when bags can be worn with or without the strap. Plus, I could literally find a reason to buy every color (but let’s be honest, the neon yellow is my #1 pick).

Which one’s your favorite?

Chi City Closet: Tory Burch Blazer & Clutch

Last weekend I had the pleasure of visiting the new Tory Burch store on Oak Street. Everyone that works there is especially friendly and fun, so I highly recommend checking it out. Plus, they have this amazing couch upstairs that I would purchase in a second if it was for sale!

Thanks to Tory Burch and Chicago Blogger Network, I got this great metallic blazer (that could not fit more perfectly by the way) and vibrant orange patent clutch. These were the first items I noticed in the store. I tried them on with what I was wearing (see below) and although they don’t really go together, they kind of do at the same time. So I’m very excited to welcome these new items into my Chi City Closet!
