It’s already June, which means it’s almost technically Summer therefore festival season and the inevitable influx of denim shorts. I’ve never really been into this style myself…I have a few pairs but I prefer silk or leather when it comes to shorts. But now that denim shorts don’t necessarily have to be cut-off with ass and pockets exposed and at times can resemble a diaper, I’m warming up to the idea of growing my [currently very small] collection of denim shorts.
Besides swimwear, denim is one of my least favorite things to buy. Unless you have a perfectly proportionate body shape (but who does, really?), it’s not all that easy to buy in either of those two categories. But because I might wear a swimsuit 5 times a year and I wear some sort of denim almost on a daily, denim is today’s priority.
If you’re one of those people who just can’t wear low-rise, appreciate a bit of stretch and still want high quality and great style, then I suggest you hit that “read more” button.
You know how you wake up on January 1 and feel like you’re really going to commit to your new years resolutions this year (post-hangover of course)? And then by the next week, you’ve already forgotten about them. That’s kind of like what Earth Day is; you’ll try to commit to taking shorter showers and turning the lights off when you leave the room…but then it completely slips your mind on any day that’s not Earth Day. Nothing to be ashamed of. I drive a 2002 Toyota 4Runner…and trust me, it ain’t no Prius.
So to celebrate this wonderful holiday, I thought the Chanel Fall 2013 globe clutch would be the perfect image to get us started. After all, it is Karl’s world…and we’re all just living in it.
Current/Elliott has been killing it lately with their jeans. They’ve taken denim to another level, especially with the popular leopard skinnies. I was looking on Net-a-Porter last weekend, as I do every day, and I couldn’t take my eyes off the Ankle Skinny low-rise suede jeans…I just had to dedicate a full post to them.
It’s not easy to find high-waisted skinny jeans that look cool. These are an absolute perfect silhouette. To top it off, they’re suede…oh and they’re orange. So I guess you can say, they’re pretty sweet. I’d wear them with my vintage Chloe peasant blouse I got at Modern Vintage last month. Or even with a black Wolford bodysuit and cropped leather jacket.
How would you wear the Current/Elliott suede jeans?
