To quote the famous Heidi Klum, “as you know in fashion one day you’re in, and the next day you’re out.” This is very true BUT sometimes an exception comes around and you find certain styles and designers that stick around for a while. Now, what makes that happen? Well, that’s the topic of today’s discussion, folks (amongst other things of course…)
One fashion program I hope never goes away is the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund. Every year since 2004, they give a grant and mentorship to one promising designer after an extensive round of interviews, presentations, etc. (fun fact: Proenza Schouler’s Lazaro Hernandez and and Jack McCollough were the first ever winners). Last night was the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund dinner where this year’s winner was announced…
Juan Carlos Obando, Dao-Yi Chow, Julianne Moore, Tom Ford, Maxwell Osborne, and Marc Alary
When it comes to art, street art is what I prefer. There’s something about it that just intrigues me. Probably because it’s colorful, unconventional and just straight up awesome (I think this Pinterest board says it all). So the fact that I get to be a part of a super cool party that combines the best of art and style (and ChiCityFashion getting graffitied) is pretty exciting.
I’m just going to get straight to it…want to win $250 to shop the new Cusp floor of Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue? Then I suggest you keep reading.
If you’ve been in the Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue lately, you may have noticed they’ve been making some changes. The best update they made, though, has to be Cusp (their contemporary floor). It’s well-merchandised, has all my favorite designers, plus it actually looks fun to shop. If you don’t know what I mean, you’re just going to have to make a little visit this week to see for yourself.
