Style.com vs. Weather.com

Do you ever find yourself looking at fashion week street style photos and wondering what season they were taken in? Sometimes you’ll see sweaters in September (even though it’s 75 degrees…but fashion folks just love their Fall attire) or bare legs in Winter (because tights can easily ruin an outfit…unless they’re these). This season is no exception.

So let’s have a chat about the weather, but most importantly…how much does it affect the way you dress?

So You’re Not At Fashion Week?

With fashion week (well at least Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week) starting today, I thought it would be fun to do something a little different…a not so typical kick-off-to-fashion-week post. If you came by on Tuesday and/or follow me on Instagram, you’ll know I’m not in New York right now (not in Chicago either). BUT you don’t have to be on the other side of the world or in NYC to have a good time.

If you’re not currently running across Manhattan in 6-inch platforms hoping to get at least one non blurry runway photo on Instagram, here’s five fashion week alternatives to help you overcome that FOMO.

To Fashion Week Or Not To Fashion Week?

With New York Fashion Week just around the corner, and some very interesting articles that came out yesterday on both The Business of Fashion and Fashionista, I thought today should be the day we have that conversation. Yes, THAT conversation — to fashion week or not to fashion week?

Au Revoir, 2013

Oh 2013, it’s been real. As we part ways I thought I’d be unoriginal and do that whole best of 2013 thing. You’ve already seen the best of the red carpet and this year’s most popular but I’m going to get all personal for a minute here and share with you 20 of my favorite/funny/fun/exciting/weird moments from the big 1-3.

Repeat Offender

I never really understood that mentality of “not wearing anything twice.” If you’re going to buy something, you should probably wear it more than once, don’t you think? (with the exception of a wedding dress or bridesmaid dress…let’s hope the first time is a charm and you know that those dresses the bride says “you can totally wear this again” you’ll be tossing the second that reception is over). So I thought I’d really make a point to show you that regardless of a statement-making piece or a wardrobe staple, it’s totally okay to be a repeat offender.

Instead of having someone call me out on repeating items and looks, why not do it myself?
