With this year’s Met Gala theme being Manus x Machina (man made vs. machine made fashion) we’ve seen a lot of different interpretations. From extreme beading and other intricate details to all silver everything (I guess when people hear “fashion in an age of technology” they immediately think METALLICS!) we’ve seen it all. But have we? That was only the beginning. So let’s take a look at the most “on theme” and / or over the top looks from the 2016 Met Ball red carpet.
Is it just me or were the Grammys (actual show and red carpet) quite disappointing this year? This is the event where celebs go all out and have fun with their looks (because it’s really the only major occasion where they can get away with it) and I was surprised to see that lacking on the red carpet (I guess when Rihanna, Katy Perry, Madonna and Nicki Minaj don’t show…your red carpet will be lacking). Regardless…let’s see if I can find a best dressed pick in here somewhere.
We’re now officially 25% of the way through fashion month. Now that we’re done with New York, let’s take a look at NYFW SS16 (New York Fashion Week Spring 2016 for those who dislike abbreviations).
Is it just me or is everyone lacing it up all the sudden? Tops, dresses, even jumpsuits and rompers…where did these lace up versions come from? I feel like I just got smacked in the face with lace[s]…so let’s find out why.
There’s a first time for everything, right? Like my first go at culottes, being a bridesmaid newb, making a bagel sandwich that one time, and now talking about the Tony Awards red carpet. Not one I’m typically interested in discussing, but when you have names like Jennifer Lopez, Monica Lewinsky, Bella Hadid, Joseph Altuzarra, Kendall Jenner, Ashley Tisdale, Ivanka Trump, Larry David, Hamish Bowles, and Anna Wintour (to name a few) on ONE red carpet…you have to be somewhat interested, right? Well I sure was. And here are the results.
