Because we’re soon heading into the big transition, it’s not too soon to start talking Fall trends (even if it might be too soon for sweaters). One big trend we saw is one I’ve openly discussed that I refuse to wear, but who knows? I might change my mind this season…
I haven’t done a Throwback Thursday here in quite a while, and what better occasion to revive it than CANNES TIME? Yes, it’s that time of year again — where both American and foreign A-listers gather in the south of France to
celebrate film be photographed in expensive borrowed gowns for all of us to judge. But because the festival kicked off just yesterday, I wanted to wait a bit before we discussed this year’s red carpet so I thought I’d compromise and talk about the best of the Cannes red carpet from years past (as well as the not-so-great, the…interesting, and the Diane Kruger — a category of its own).
There was a place and time where it was cool to wear logos — Gucci G’s, Fendi F’s and Juicy Couture everything (so the 2001-2006 range). Then it died off for a while and now we’re seeing a comeback, but [thankfully] in a slightly more tasteful way.
The 3 1/2 hour concert also known as the Grammys happened last night. All that was missing was Blue Ivy featuring Jay-Z and Beyonce. That, and the lack of fashion folks on the red carpet (like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Bey herself) was pretty disappointing. But at least I learned about some new people (and by that I mean I didn’t know about half the people on the red carpet).
So most importantly, let’s see who wore what…shall we?
