Move over Marant, it’s Wang’s turn for some H&M love. If you haven’t heard the news, H&M announced at Coachella this weekend that Alexander Wang would be their next designer collaboration. Now, a high/low collab is barely news any more, but there’s something extra special about this one…
My feelings towards designer collaborations (re: Isabel Marant x H&M, 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target, etc) have been very mixed. There’s been plenty of articles written either for or against them but after reading a certain story on Fashionista.com yesterday it inspired me to think of this debate in a whole new way. This is a big topic in the fashion industry right now so I’d love for you to weigh in.
I’m very excited for the latest H&M collaboration with one of my personal favorite style icons–Anna Dello Russo! On October 4th, you’ll be able to shop her exclusive accessories collection that will be available at 140 H&M stores.
The collection will consist of shoes, bags, jewelry and sunglasses…and all statement-worthy and over-the-top. Would you expect anything less from ADR?
From Anna herself– “I am excited by this collaboration: this is the first time H&M has involved a fashion director in a special project. This is the sign of an important evolution in fashion, and I am both thrilled and humbled to be the one chosen to lead it. I wanted to create precious accessories that are impossible to find. As a stylist, I know accessorization is essential; it is the personal touch in any outfit. With these pieces, everybody can have fun, and turn an ordinary day into a fantastic fashion day.”
