Oh, the maxi dress. One of those things that never seems to go out of style yet is a pain in the ass to wear. You don’t want to go too boho with flat sandals, you might look like you’re wearing a gown if paired with heels…so how the hell do you wear these things? I decided I was going to figure it out for myself.
Considering it’s felt like Fall in San Francisco, when it’s really Summer in Chicago, my wardrobe has taken an unexpected turn as of late. When I should be wearing shorts and sandals, I’ve ended up in pants and loafers…but at least I have this sweet sequin situation happening that makes up for it all.
Why would I title a post “The Atelier” when I’m hanging out in front of a graffiti wall in Logan Square? I’ll get to that in a minute, but first…
Because no one knows what to wear in these suddenly cold temperatures, I thought it would be fun to wear my favorite casual Fall look and FRAME IT.
Due to my extreme frustration with the recent weather (can anyone in Chicago remember the last day we did NOT have rain? I didn’t think so), I thought I’d channel this into something helpful. When it rains, we all seem to either give up on how we look or just ruin our outfits. Neither one is fun so I’m going to turn something bad (daily storms that occur when you least expect it so you better have an umbrella at ALL times) into something good (an excuse to go shopping).
