Oh hey summer, how nice of you to show up…it’s about damn time (we are half way through June after all). Now that it seems like we’ll have consistently warm weather (at least for the next week or so) I think it’s time we discuss summer essentials.

Although some may consider Proenza Schouler a new label, designers Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez have actually had the line since 2003. So, to celebrate their 10 year anniversary, my favorite store is doing something pretty spectacular for my favorite designers.

Well at least for the next week or so. We’ll see about after that.
Last week I shared an exciting designer collaboration — Charlotte Olympia and Tom Binns (which is now available online by the way) — that’s celebrating the Met’s latest exhibit and theme for this year’s Met Ball, Punk: Chaos to Couture. A few questions to ask yourselves here…1) Will people actually be wearing punk-inspired looks on the Met Ball red carpet this coming Monday? 2) Is punk actually back? If so, to what extent? and 3) Are you aware that a leather chandelier exists? More about that later.

Yes, such a thing exists. Can you believe it? AND it’s not ironic that it’s called the Jena blazer…it is indeed named after me. Hashtag humble brag.

Pre-Fall ’13 is happening right now (which I’ve noted in the past as a “forgotten collection”) but with the looks of 3.1 Phillip Lim, I don’t know how you can forget this…
