I’m not a huge movie person (considering my favorites of all time are Clueless and Mean Girls) so it’s rare when I’m absolutely dying to see a movie…and that rare occasion occurred when I heard about The Bling Ring. I got to attend an early screening last night and I’ve found myself Googling “Pretty Wild, E!” “Paris Hilton portrait pillows” and “Audrina Patridge address” (which I’m hoping now isn’t all that easy to find).
As much as I loved the movie, I want to discuss the most important part — the fashion.
Tonight was my absolute favorite event of the year [that I don't attend because it's $25,000 a ticket and I'm not famous] — the Met Gala. Saying it’s the Oscars is fashion is an understatement. When you’re typically used to seeing strapless sparkly gowns on the red carpet (#boring), this event has anything but. This year was especially exciting with the whole punk theme (which we already discussed last week) so I decided to do my red carpet posts a little differently this time. Be looking out for part 2 coming soon, as well as a “best punk,” “almost punk,” and “not so punk” posts. Getting a little ambitious with 5 posts but I hope you enjoy them as much as I enjoy writing them. If not, please lie in the comments section.
So I hope you’re ready for some serious red carpet commentary, because here it goes.
Now that fashion month is officially over, it’s time to review the runways and see what we’ll be wearing this coming Fall. I realize it’s barely Spring but this is how fashion works. Just like heeled running shoes, it makes perfect sense.
And because it’s always fun to be ahead of the trends, I found some pieces you can wear this Spring that are still perfectly on trend for Fall ’13. Here it goes…
It’s getting to be my favorite time of year again. Those special months where I can harshly judge the dresses celebrities/their stylists so carefully choose, where we completely disregard any acting skills whatsoever and only focus on the clothes…it’s almost awards season.
Because the Golden Globes still seem so far away (January 13 can’t come soon enough) I just spent way too much time on Style.com figuring out what looks I’d like to see on the red carpet this weekend. I was pretty disappointed in last year’s Golden Globes fashion (Sarah Michelle Gellar’s ink-stained gown, Mila Kunis’s downfall after Black Swan and Amanda Peet’s Bo Peep moment) so I’m hoping to see some redemption on the red carpet this Sunday.
Now that Cannes has come to a close, it’s time to wrap up the judging and await the next big red carpet event. Be sure to check out part 1 of Cannes fashion from last week (I continue to gush over Diane Kruger). Here we go…
