Your Best Accessory

A lot of people have a tough time incorporating color into their wardrobe, and I always say the easiest way to do so is by utilizing bright accessories. But now with so many colorful shoes, jewelry and bags on the market…the accessories world can be a bit overwhelming. The simplest way to utilize color is the most intimidating for a lot of women. Can you guess what it is?

NARS Goes Warhol

Ever since Thakoon x NARS happened, I’ve had some pretty high hopes for beauty collaborations (especially from NARS, because their products are awesome). Although you can’t technically call their latest collection “Andy Warhol x NARS” (for obvious reasons)….it’s as close as an Andy Warhol collaboration you’re going to get in 2012.

Chanel Top Coat Velvet

From someone who has an extensive nail polish collection, that includes a few matte colors, I’ve always wanted a matte top coat but could never find one. And thanks to a white elephant mishap last week, I discovered Chanel Top Coat Velvet.

I wanted to do a really fun manicure for New Years and because I dedicate my Mondays to manis…I get to share my NYE nails with you today!

I thought it would be cool to try something unconventional and do the matte top coat over a black glitter nail polish…and I absolutely love the results!

Winter Skincare Update

If you’re one of those people who tweets “70 degrees and sunny in LA today!” in mid-December, this post may not apply to you. Feel free to continue reading though :)

For most of us, Winter is just around the corner, and even with the chilly Fall weather, this makes it necessary for us to change up our skincare routine. Time to switch out those light foam cleansers for a gel or cream cleanser, time to use a heavier moisturizer, exfoliating is always a must, and if you’re extra dry during this season, try a serum under your moisturizer.

Here are some of my favorite products for the Fall/Winter season…

The Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish is one product I swear by all year long, but it is especially fantastic during the Fall/Winter season. My body, mostly my legs, tend to get extremely dry in the Winter and this actually cures my dryness. No joke. What I like the call the “scrub crystals” are much larger than a normal body scrub, but I think that’s what does the trick. You will feel the difference after just one use!

I’ve been using the Trish McEvoy Beauty Booster Serum for a couple months now, and it is the perfect yet simple way to “enhance” your skincare routine. A few drops of this under my moisturizer at night (can be used both day and night though) and my skin is hydrated and refreshed for the morning. Although I shouldn’t be worrying about wrinkles, I do, and the main ingredient in this serum acts a “moisture magnet” which also stimulates natural collagen production as well.

In the summer, I usually stick with a foaming cleanser, but for Fall/Winter, I switch to a gel or cream cleanser. I absolutely love SkinCeuticals so I stick with the SkinCeuticals Cleansing Cream. It not only completely cleanses your face, makeup and everything, but it gently exfoliates your skin with Hydroxy acids. This cleanser also has soothing botanicals to heal skin, plus Ginseng to improve elasticity.

The NARS Hydrating Moisture Cream is definitely my favorite night-time moisturizer I’ve ever used…and I’ve used a lot of skincare products. A little goes a long way with this product, and it is the perfect amount of hydration for your skin. This moisturizer has numerous antioxidants, which help protect skin against free radicals (which can contribute to early signs of aging) along with fennel, to smooth skin’s texture, and both Vitamins A and C for soothing purposes. An all around FANTASTIC moisturizer.

NARS Multiple Tint

If you’re not familiar with the NARS Multiple (the original), it is a thick makeup stick that can be used on eyes, cheeks and/or lips. It’s a great multi-use product and I have had mine (in South Beach) for a few years now and I absolutely love it. My most recent NARS purchase is the NARS Multiple Tint (in Cadaqués) which is the same idea but in more of a gel-consistency (see pictured above). I know I know…these colors seem way to bright to go anywhere on your body except your nails but I promise you they do not show up this way. I use a little on my cheeks (before powder and bronzer) to give a pop of color; it really gives little life to your face. It adds just the right amount of brightness and really makes a difference in your makeup routine.

Have you tried the NARS Multiple? Or the Multiple Tint? What are your thoughts? I always love to hear from you!
