Either you love or you hate the question, how would you describe your personal style? For me, it’s always been a difficult one to answer (although I did so in length in The Art of Getting Dressed and Funky Fresh) because I don’t necessarily identify with the typical categories (minimalist, preppy, edgy, feminine, bohemian, etc.) So I thought I’d come up with yet another question that I think is better suited — what is your ultimate goal when getting dressed?
We all need to update that LBD every once in a while, but what about that LBB? Let’s not forget about the BOOTIE (ankle bootie that is…)
Today’s topic of discussion is no new trend (like Drake saying “no new friends” but replace friends with trends…you feel me?) The matching set is something our mothers wore back in the day, when people actually bought “outfits.” Then for so long, any sort of matching looked like you were trying too hard (especially if there’s any pairing of a red bag with red shoes…something I despise to this day). Now there’s this new way of matching, and it seems to be sticking around for quite a while.
