I always love the idea of an all white outfit but I rarely go for it. Why? Although unofficially diagnosed, I do have a fear of stains. Yes I know they can come out (although an extra rainy Lollapalooza day 3 last year left me with perma-mud stains on my white culottes) but I do find them to be the ultimate buzzkill. I have to get over it though, and I did today. I’ve done all white once for summer, but now I’m giving it a go for spring…
Us fashion folks love to talk about “looks for less” and “splurge-worthy items” but how do we know when it’s really worth it? One rule of thumb is if you can wear the piece day or night and/or in any season, it’s probably worth the investment (as long as it’s not a super trend — I’m talking to you sneaker wedges). And we all love shoes, right? So let’s bring the two topics together and there you have today’s post.
When is two better than one? When you get TWO for the price of ONE (AKA the two-fer). Whether it’s convertible clothing or one piece that looks like two — this idea of “two-fer” dressing seems to be having a moment.
If you follow me on Instagram, you probably think my closet only consists of five things (seven, max) because I’m one of those people who tends to wear the same pieces over and over (and over) again. I don’t believe in the whole “I was photographed in it once so I can never wear it again” mentality (I’ve even called myself out for being a repeat offender right here on CCF) because if you own things you love (bonus if they’re comfortable) why not wear the hell out of ’em? So today, I thought I’d share with you my go-to items…and why I consider them to be summer must haves.
If you’re already so over spring clothes (everything’s on sale now anyway) and you’re not quite ready for Fall fashion then I have the perfect happy medium for you. Want to know what you’ll be wearing when you vacation somewhere fabulous come January? (or for most of us it’s what we’ll be wearing next Spring that’s will technically be out of season but that just means better discounts). IT’S RESORT TIME.
