We’ve now discussed many of red carpet looks from last night’s Met Gala but what about those who really went with the theme this year? Last year, I thought it would be fun to break up the posts by who got super punk, who kinda did and those who couldn’t be less punk. So we’re doing this same this year but with regards to those who took the Charles James theme quite literally (see below) and those who just didn’t give a shit about the theme (coming up in the next post).
The only time I really enjoy writing about celebrity fashion is during red carpet season. You won’t find too many “how to get [insert celebrity name here]‘s look from [insert some event here]” posts on ChiCityFashion. But every once in a while, there’s someone who really sticks out to me and I just have to discuss their fantastic style, what they’re doing right, and why they’ve become such a fashion icon. So let’s talk about Emma Watson…
I’d like to thank
the Academy everyone’s stylists for not disappointing last night. Although I wasn’t absolutely freaking out over anyone’s look, I didn’t totally hate anyone’s look either…and that’s quite the rare occasion.
As per usual, we saw a lot of embellishments, neutrals, embellished neutrals and just for fun a few pastels. As well as Jennifer Lawrence falling…yet again.

If you missed Taylor Swift in chain mail Gucci, Kathy Griffin borrowing from The Real Housewives and me actually liking a mens look, then be sure to check out part 1 of the Grammys red carpet. If you’re all caught up then let’s keep this moving.
The 3 1/2 hour concert also known as the Grammys happened last night. All that was missing was Blue Ivy featuring Jay-Z and Beyonce. That, and the lack of fashion folks on the red carpet (like Rihanna, Lady Gaga and Bey herself) was pretty disappointing. But at least I learned about some new people (and by that I mean I didn’t know about half the people on the red carpet).
So most importantly, let’s see who wore what…shall we?
