Proenza Schouler Spring 2012 Ads

Now’s the time where many of the Spring 2012 ad campaigns are surfacing, and with the amazing collections we saw last September these are bound to be good. But who has the best so far? Proenza Schouler…of course. Let’s take a look, shall we?

Really loving the mint color of this skirt for Spring (pastels are the biggest trend next season!) The softness of the skirt paired with that awesome textured top…genius.

Looks like I should start doing crunches if I’m ever going to pull this off…

This top is one of my favorite pieces from this collection.

Normally not a fan of brown and black together, but I’m definitely a fan of this look.

LOVE an open back…even better that it’s Proenza 🙂

My favorite image of all the Proenza SS12 ad photos (love me a good detail shot!)

Spring 2012 Trend: Bandeau Tops

Last week I shared with you the new sheer skirt trend for Spring 2012, and after viewing the collections from Milan…there’s another trend coming to town. Bandeau tops were all over the runways for Milan Fashion Week (and not the kind you wear under sheer tops). These are detailed, meant to be seen, bandeau tops worn with both pants and skirts. Some were shown with jackets and some without (I’d personally recommend a jacket) but this is another trend I’m curious to see whether or not it will translate to the streets. What do you think?

Spring 2012 Trend: The New Sheer Skirt

A trend I’ve come across for Spring 2012 is the sheer skirt. However, these aren’t any ordinary sheer skirts; these are more of an illusion…it’s the new sheer skirt. The look of a short dress and a long sheer skirt with intricate detailing at the hem, these are definitely show stopping pieces.

What do you think of this trend for Spring ’12? Do you think it will translate to the street or will it just be something we see on the red carpet? Let me know in the comments section below!

Carlos Miele Spring 2012 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

This was my second time seeing a Spring collection from Carlos Miele and I was really looking forward to seeing what he had in store for Spring ’12. This season he showed a lot of white and gold (which I saw last Spring as well) as well as a vibrant orange and an array of blues (turquoise, seafoam green, and ocean blue). I loved the shades of orange he used in the collection, especially paired with the gold belts. The styling was very “wealthy housewife on vacation in St. Barths” (which was very classic for him…nothing wrong with that). And overall at the end of the show, it made me really want to go on vacation!

Some familiar faces in the front row were Vogue‘s Hamish Bowles, Harper’s Bazaar’s Joanna Hillman and the International Herald’s Suzy Menkes.

Jenny Packham Spring 2012 at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week

Yesterday I attended the Jenny Packham Spring 2012 show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week. Known for her red carpet ready gowns, Jenny Packham really knows how to make beautiful dresses that fit the body well. This was one of the many collections for Spring 2012 that heavily used pastels (in hues of lemon, tangerine, seafoam green, powder blue and coral). Pastels are perfect for these “fairy like” dresses Jenny designs, along with intricate beading, feminine ruffles and her signature high slits. And although mostly pastel, she did throw in a few bright pops of color in cherry red and turquoise blue to get that surprise factor throughout the collection.

An early show (9am) it’s not easy to get those seats filled, but Mandy Moore decided not to go all diva on us and she was very prompt to the show, wearing a really cool sequin jacket that was perfect for 9am.

Overall it was a gorgeous collection (one I was really looking forward to) and I’m sure we’ll be seeing plenty of these dresses come awards season this Fall!
