The New “It” App

When it comes to fashion, there’s always an “it.” It Bag (currently: anything Celine), It Girl (currently: Cara Delevingne…at least in my eyes), and regardless of your interest in fashion, It App (was Instagram…until now).

It might be too early to call Vine the new “It App” but after launching a few weeks ago, the app has gained users like Burberry, Man Repeller, Rachel Zoe and Saks just to name a few. And now, they’ve gained me (see my first post above…which is supposed to be a video, so this was the best I could do).

Like Instagram makes you an instant photog phenomenon, Vine turns you into a star videographer (kind of). You can record short looped videos and share within the app as well as Facebook and Twitter (and according to their first tweet, the app has even been acquired by Twitter). I have a feeling fashion week goers will be Vine-ing (I guess it’s not as catchy as Instagramming) runway shows this NYFW. I also have a feeling I will be one of those people.

Currently, I only have a few Vines posted. Testing the waters right now. Don’t want to overwhelm you with videos I think are funny and/or cool (and they’re probably not). If you like Proenza bags, nailpolish, fun t-shirts or have a desire to see my office then I suggest you follow me (ChiCityFashion). If not, then you can follow me anyway because I’m sure I’ll come up with a new Vine today. Regardless, prepare yourself for another social media tool that we probably don’t need but will become addicted to anyway.

Are you on Vine yet? What do you think so far?
