Episode 18: What It Really Means To Be a Style Icon + Creating A Unique Retail Concept With Tina Kourasis

Joining me this week on Fashion Friends is co-owner of one of my favorite new Chicago retail concepts — Tina Kourasis of VMR Chicago. If you haven’t been to VMR, GET THERE NOW (and listen to this episode on your way!)

It’s not easy to come up with something different when it comes to retail but Tina and her business partner Mark Gill have done just that. VMR is a boutique that words can’t explain (although Tina does a pretty good job in this week’s episode) but if you live in Chicago / are visiting soon, you need to check it out. It’s really everything I could ever want when it comes to clothing. But besides Tina’s amazing taste in clothes, she’s also quite the savvy business woman. And because of those two things, you’re going to want to pay attention at the end of this episode for some very valuable career advice.

In the mean time, you’ll get to hear our opinions on these must-see looks from the Venice Film Festival…

Bérénice Bejo

Elizabeth Banks

Dakota Johnson

As well as the week’s top fashion news, like the new Hermes collaboration that is a GAME CHANGER in the fashion / tech world…

Pantone’s top colors for Spring 2016, and the reason why they’re the season’s “it” hues…

And not necessarily fashion news BUT find out why we’ve been using the term fashion icon all wrong.

I did not plan on putting two lawyers-turned-fashion-girls in a row on Fashion Friends, but hey…it happens. So any current attorneys looking to get their big break in fashion should be pressing play LIKE NOW. Let me know what you think about this week’s episode in the comments. You can always subscribe on iTunes (and be sure to leave a review if you like what you hear!)
