Chicago Fashion Focus 2011

Although Chicago does not have a fashion week, we do have a week dedicated to local fashion that includes fashion shows, shopping events and more. It’s Chicago Fashion Focus!

Starting tonight through Sunday, October 23 you’ll find many events around town to attend.  Some highlights include Next Fashion Chicago (tonight from 6:30-9:30 at Germania Place), The Designers of the Chicago Fashion Incubator presented by Macy’s (October 18 at 7:30 pm at Millenium Park),  Modern Vintage (October 22 & 23 at Plumber’s Hall) and many more.

My Favorite Fall/Winter Coats For 2011

A few weeks ago, I shared with you my favorite capes and ponchos for 2011. Although I love capes and ponchos, they aren’t for everyone. However, who doesn’t need a great coat for the Fall/Winter season? (especially those of us in Chicago!) Decades Pop-Up Returns to 900 North Michigan Shops

Decades is at it again! This Saturday and Sunday, the popular vintage and 21st century modern designer fashion house will host their third Chicago pop-up shop at space519 in the 900 North Michigan Shops. As an added feature to this year’s event schedule, co-owners Christos Garkinos and Cameron Silver will showcase their fabulous new jewelry collaboration with Miriam Haskell – the Miriam Haskell for decades “Uptown/Downtown” collection, inspired by the brand’s famed heritage costume jewelry archives.

This shopping event will be open to the public on Saturday, October 15 10 a.m. – 7 p.m and Sunday, October 16  noon – 6 p.m. There’s a Sunday denim sample sale and a $150 shoe event…so this is one not to miss!

Current Obsession: Dolce & Gabbana Star Print iPhone Case
