Tory Burch Spring ’12 Chicago Fashion Show

Last night I attended the Tory Burch Spring ’12 fashion show in Chicago with Kelly Ryan O’Brien of Idols & Egos and the Chicago Blogger Network. This was seriously one of the best fashion events I’ve been to in Chicago so far. From the fashionable crowd and the spectacular cocktail hour to the beautiful Tory Burch clothes and Q&A with Tory and Hal Rubenstein from InStyle; it was an all around fantastic event.

It was also super fun running into Kelsey Kreiling from LaundryMagazine and Amy Creyer of Chicago Street Style.

And Art Smith…love him!

It was really cool to hear that this was Tory Burch’s first ever runway show (she normally does presentations) and it was her first time showing her collection outside of New York. So yeah I guess that means…Chicago is pretty awesome (I already knew that, but it was definitely reassuring).

So let’s get to it. Here are some of my favorite looks from the Tory Burch Spring ’12 collection…

Harper’s Bazaar Book Signing With Glenda Bailey at Coach

This Saturday, Glenda Bailey (editor-in-chief of Harper’s Bazaar) will make an appearance at Coach on Michigan Avenue. She’ll be signing the new book Harper’s Bazaar’s Greatest Hits.

So meet Glenda, pick up the new book and mingle with fellow Chicago fashion enthusiasts this Saturday from 2-4pm at Coach.

Four Seasons SPArty

Last night I attended the SPArty at the Four Seasons Chicago. I was so thankful to be invited to something like this because let’s be honest…I can always use a massage after a long day. Everyone on the Four Seasons staff is wonderful and it was such a great way to end the day. A massage, champagne and delicious bites…yeah it was pretty awesome.

(sorry, these were all taken on my iPhone)

This was the kick off to the Four Seasons’ first ever global #FSspa chats that will be happening on Twitter until November 18. Be sure to follow @FourSeasons and @FSChicago to keep up with the chats! More info here.

Leopard is Neutral

Leopard, and animal print in general, is something that I’ve always liked in small doses but never really incorporated into my wardrobe. After including a little bit of leopard in my What I’m [Surprisingly] Coveting for Fall 2011 post and actually purchasing my first leopard piece, an Alexander McQueen leopard print wrap bracelet, I’m finally giving in. After all…leopard IS neutral.

Check out my favorite [tasteful] leopard picks below. (remember, leopard can sometimes look cheap so make sure it’s a tasteful piece!)

Chi City Closet: The Accessories Clean Out

I wanted to make a little extra money for the holidays (I always try to out-do my gifts from the previous year) so what’s the easiest way to do that? Sell some accessories of course! I wanted to share with you the accessories that I consigned with eDrop-Off so you can have the opportunity to own a piece of Chi City Closet.

I wore these once and it was on my 19th birthday. The one thing I remember when I wore these shoes is walking down Rush Street and a little girl asked me if I was Cinderella (I also happened to be wearing a Dior tiara…yes I admit it, I still own a Dior tiara).

This bag can hold everything. I love the ombre effect too…it literally goes with any outfit!

Photobucket Marc By Marc Jacbos Black Leather Hobo Handbag

I had a hard time parting with this one because I love the hardware and the interior is super unique. But after getting yet another black bag, the Celine Luggage tote, I had to part with one…and this was it!

Another pair of shoes I only wore once, these were to my high school graduation party my best friend and I threw. We wore matching BCBG dresses; mine was blue, hers was pink. Yes, this is a sign of the times…

Photobucket Furla Green Translucent Candy Handbag

I bought the very last Furla candy bag in the Chicago store over the summer and I was beyond excited to finally own one. It’s the only stylish bag I’ve come across to withstand the Chicago weather, but I think it’s time someone else has their Furla candy bag moment.

I bought these at Barneys in LA a few years ago. I for some reason never got around to wearing them. My philosophy is that if it’s been in my closet for over a year and I haven’t worn it…it’s time to move on.

So what do you think of this Chi City Closet clean out accessories feature? I’m cleaning out my closet all the time so if you don’t win any of the auctions above, don’t worry…there’s always next time!
