Thankfully there’s less than 48 hours left in 2014, meaning you won’t have to see anymore yearly round-up posts for quite a while BUT because the clock is ticking, let’s check out some CCF highlights from ’14, shall we? (I promise, there’s some good ones…maybe even some you missed!)
From most popular, to my favorites, here’s a look at some cool shit that happened this year.
I introduced a few new categories, including lifestyle, travel and CCF Loves. As much as I love to feature cool people and explore other cities, I do enjoy writing these “lifestyle” posts (although they’re mostly just things that don’t fit in any other category I currently have so I just put them into #LIFE and move on with mine). A few posts from that category I’m especially proud of this year include this one about selfies (selfie game still strong in ’14…curious to see what will happen in ’15)
When I asked my boyfriend what it’s really like to date a fashion girl (which happened to be the 4th most popular post on CCF this year)
And that time I admitted I used to be basic (it was difficult but I had to share my struggles to hopefully inspire others to share their stories as well). Fun fact — this was the #1 most popular post on ChiCityFashion this year. And I love that because I REALLY enjoyed writing it 🙂
Also in the top five most popular posts this year? This fun city guide I did with Coach and Nylon Magazine this Fall (glad you liked it too).
Upgrading your Coachella wardrobe (very important stuff!)
And the very first CCF Loves of the year — Jessie Kalin (who is now Jessie Mash…congrats Jessie!)
But life isn’t just a popularity contest. It’s about what makes you happy, right? And you know what makes me happy? A good outfit. And some of my favorites of the year…
A very recent shift into neutrals, as well as me hoping that you have a nice day.
And some extra fun shoots included a few outfits I don’t typically wear but I made them my own — like wearing all white while eating fries (the fries part was pretty typical though) as well as this maxi dress moment (when else have you ever seen me in a maxi dress?)
The best part about this year, though, (besides Laz getting brother Lennox) is the abnormal amount of traveling I did. Compared to many bloggers who are on a plane so much they need their own hashtag, I’m basically a homebody…but for my standards, I hit up O’Hare quite a few times in 2014. February was all about Australia, in April I was home for less than a week total (otherwise you could have found me in Dallas, Scottsdale, Palm Springs Or Coachella), then I took a break for summer (as being in Chicago for those rare warm three months is crucial), hit up Munich / Amsterdam / Berlin in September, a quick trip to Miami (pre-Art Basel) in November and I’m more than ready for my next adventure (which will be LA next month).
Any favorite posts or moments you saw on CCF this year? As always, whatever you want to see more of (or less of…just be nice, my friends) please let me know in the comments. You know I love to hear from you.
