When I think of the fact I’ve gotten away with two WWW posts in December WITHOUT A COAT, I can’t help but feel like the luckiest girl in the world (along with every other Chicagoan). And no, this isn’t one of those situations where you see a blogger in a short sleeveless dress and open toe shoes with a field of snow in the background…I actually try to keep my outfits somewhat practical. And what’s more practical than black on black??
With a hint of gold…and a fabulous hat, of course.
Now you see me…
Now you don’t.
WHAT (am I wearing):
Sweater: The Row. Pants: The Row. Shoes: Nicholas Kirkwood. Hat: Ryan Roche. Bag: Mark Cross.
WHY (am I wearing it):
Now I can only get away with this no coat thing if I dress appropriately (duh). Like I said, no sleeveless dresses here today! This sweater is basically a coat on its own…so I know on these 50 degree days that this heavy turtleneck is PLENTY. I realize a sweater dress isn’t the most exciting thing in the world but because of the wrap / slit effect of this particular style (thank you Mary-Kate and Ashley), you have to wear something underneath (whether it be a skirt or pants…or leather pants). So that in itself makes a sweater dress just a bit more…thrilling? I already told you about updating those little black boots and here’s proof I updated mine. I’ve worn these pretty much everyday since I got them…and they’re not going away anytime soon (deal with it). Finishing it all off with a felt topper and a hint of gold…because it can’t be an all black winter! 😉
