What Why Where: You Fancy, Huh?

As Swizz Beats once said “You Fancy, Huh?” And I’m thinking he might have been talking to me.

Just kidding. Not really. But this is pretty fancy, at least for me.

For the last nice day we’ll probably have in quite some time (which is not today, that’s for sure) I opted for my go-to…an all black fall outfit.

WHAT (am I wearing):
Coat: Vintage Celine. Dress: Neil Barrett. Boots: Alaia. Sunglasses: Prism. Bag: c/o Ferragamo.

WHY (am I wearing it):
I knew when we were planning on shooting Wednesday, I had to bring out the legs one last time. I don’t wear a ton of dresses and skirts but with another cold winter approaching, I figured I’d just go for it. As much as I’d just love to wear flats all the time, I do like to give my heels and boots a chance every once in a while. And ever since these studded pieces of fashion goodness came into my life (you might remember them from the one that got away), I’ve been itching to get them out in the world. Because it’s November, I thought doing a dress with boots, as opposed to a dress with heels, was a little more appropriate. The coat actually wasn’t necessary this day (that’s how awesome the weather was…emphasis on was) but I thought it was nice to break up the black / avoid looking like the girls on Hubbard Street at 2am in their bandage dresses and no coat in the middle of December (you know what I’m talking about). And topping it all off with some new sunnies via space519 (which I’ve come to a realization that more than half of the sunglasses I own come from there) as well as some badass arm candy from Ferragamo.

Side note, while Heather and I were shooting, we were asked if we wanted to check out the rooftop of the building under construction across the street, which ended up being Morgan Manufacturing. I had been there for Dose Market but had no idea there were plans beyond the event space — a distillery, restaurant, unreal rooftop (views seen above) and more are in the works. Once this is open you guys have to check it out.
