If you’ve ever wanted pug print hot pants, a faux fur coat that looks like it might belong to Cookie Monster or naked Barbie on a bomber jacket, then this is going to be your new favorite designer…
Au Jour Le Jour is one of many brands making fashion fun, with unexpected prints and references that you can’t help but smile at…even if you don’t want to look like a Sesame Street character. Designers Mirko Fontana and Diego Marquez created their Italian fashion brand in 2010, featuring both menswear and womenswear (although I’d pretty much wear all of the menswear just as much as then women’s) and all with an ironic twist. They’re not afraid to take a risk when it comes to prints, while making it a little more approachable with easy things to wear like bomber jackets, sweatshirts, and my favorite — WIDE DRESSES.
It’s like we were meant to be, right? Au Jour Le Jour can also take it down a notch with some not-so-traditional suiting.
But if you want the true aesthetic of the brand, you should go for the prints…like this one, that I like to call DINO STYLE.
So if you and your man (or just you) want to get into some wild prints to spruce up your wardrobe (and are looking for Italian quality fabrics and design), Au Jour Le Jour is where it’s at.
Would you wear any of these Au Jour Le Jour pieces? (which ironically means “day to day” in French even though they’re Italian and naked Barbie jackets aren’t necessarily meant for everyday…or are they?)
