I like to keep things light and fun for Fridays (although it’s like that pretty much everyday here on CCF). And what’s more fun than BANANAS? (well, a lot of things if you happen to be allergic…)
Thankfully there’s a solution if you do happen to have a banana allergy (that is a thing, right?) and that is for you to wear bananas…head-to-toe if you insist. I really enjoy fashion items that incorporate food in some way (mostly because eating is my only hobby), although the fast food thing was quite overplayed last year. Prada Spring ’11 (arguably the greatest spring ever) is what initially sparked my interest in actually wearing bananas.
And now, it seems like a full-on trend (or what some would probably consider a “micro trend”). Perhaps we’ve just become a little more health conscious since Fall ’14? Designers like Sonia Rykiel (pictured below) and Markus Lupfer are making me want an entire wardrobe of just bananas this spring.
If you think a banana print skirt is too much, try an accessory. Sophia Webster is just killing it with the banana accessories right now. ABSOLUTELY KILLING IT.
Banana clutch. Banana sandals. Banana slip on sneakers. Banana earrings. Banana necklace. What time is it? CHECK ON YOUR BANANA WATCH.
This trend is bananas B-A-N-A-N-A-S! (oh is that not how it goes?)
Can you tell I really enjoy saying the word, banana?

If you too are going bananas just thinking about how awesome all this banana-ness is, then you should shop some of the most bad ass banana things you’ll ever FEAST your eyes on. And when your banana wardrobe is complete, BANANAGRAM it (AKA Instagramming your bananas…not to be confused with the word game).
