You know I love all things oversized, especially when it comes to outerwear. So today I teamed up with Burberry and styled one of my favorite coats from their Brit collection (of course…it’s a blanket coat!) Perfect timing because it’s that time of year where we’re debating whether to be stylish or warm (remember, you CAN have it all) and this does just the trick in both categories…
And why not add the shoes and bag Cara wore on the runway? (if I can’t be Cara Delevingne, this is second best for sure)
It’s like we’re old pals or something, my bag told me something surprising and I’m all like GET OUT!
WHAT (am I wearing):
Coat: Burberry. Pants: J Brand. Shoes: Burberry. Bag: Burberry. Shirt: Apiece Apart.
WHY (am I wearing it):
This really is the perfect fall/winter look — it’s warm, it’s not too dressy or too casual (I mean, I can wear this pretty much everywhere except a black tie gala, right?), the bag and shoe game are amazing and overall it’s a look I feel really good in…and isn’t that what fashion is all about? With Burberry, they’re known for so many things — of course the typical nova check that everyone would recognize, but besides that, their Prorsum (runway) collections as well as their Brit outerwear are both incredible (this coat is from the Brit collection). They also recently launched beauty and I got to try a few of their eye palettes. I cannot emphasize this enough that I am terrible at doing eye makeup, which is why I never wear it. But I thought I would give it a shot for this post because I liked the blue and grey colors in this one specifically. I’m not going to lie…I think I did a really good job. I don’t know if it’s the formula, the color combinations or I just don’t suck at it anymore but I do think I will be wearing eyeshadow more often now. Besides Prorsum, Brit and beauty, Burberry’s also known for being not one of the best but THE best brand when it comes to digital in fashion. Whether it’s Art of the Trench, their nearly 18 million Facebook fans or their campaign videos (the new one with Romeo Beckham pretty much blew me away…although I am a sucker for choreographed dances), no one does it like Burberry. They also hold a special place in my heart because not only was I included in their Art of the Trench campaign in Chicago but last year when I was in London I got to see the Prorsum show during fashion week and that was probably one of my favorite moments in my career so far. So yeah. I have a thing for Burberry. And I think this post proves it.
