Birchbox Summer Braid Event with Kérastase

Beauty junkies rejoice! Popular beauty subscription website Birchbox is hosting a series of events in Chicago this week, with one of them being this TONIGHT (June 6) at Maxine Salon.

Guests are invited to enjoy a complimentary braiding, sweets and treats, 25% off their first service at Maxine, and a Birchbox filled with Kérastase to take home. Tickets are $35 and (which is a pretty sweet deal considering all that’s included) and there are two time slots–6 p.m. and 7 p.m. Purchase your tickets here.

Red Carpet Fashion: 2012 CFDA Awards (Part 1)

Last night was the annual CFDA Awards. With the Met Ball being like the Oscars of fashion, I’d say this is more like the SAG Awards or the Golden Globes…it’s a big deal but nothing beats the Academy, ya know?

Unfortunately, I was not all that impressed with the looks this year. With a crowd of designers, models and muses I expected way more from these people. It is the Council of FASHION Designers of America…so step up the fashion, please.

Birthday Weekend

Because my birthday fell on a holiday this year (yesterday, Memorial Day) I thought I’d take the whole weekend to celebrate (even though I’d probably do the same if it didn’t fall on a holiday). I had such a fun weekend I wanted to share with you some of my favorite photos.
