New Items from Rachel Zoe for QVC

If you’re an avid reader of my blog, it’s rare that I post something without mentioning Rachel Zoe. I think she’s an amazing stylist and I respect her work and her creativity. I already own a few things from Rachel’s collection including the Faux Fur Vest with Hook & Eye Closure (in Red Fox…obsessed!), Cabochon Drop Earrings (in Jade; very vintage-looking…so fab), and the Foldover Messenger Bag (in pewter…such a great color). I am 100% satisfied with each and every one of these items. And just when I didn’t think her collection could get any better, she debuted a bunch of new items last week and I am dying over everything. I knew I wanted to do a post sharing my favorite items with you and it was very difficult for me to choose but I did it and I hope you enjoy!

Lamb Leather Belted Jacket

The ivory color (shown above) is my favorite but this jacket also comes in black and tan which are equally as fabulous. Rachel wore this when she debuted her new items on QVC and many sizes sold out immediately. Thankfully, QVC re-stocked and almost all sizes are currently available in each color. This is a great light jacket for spring and it can be worn with just about everything. The belt is slimming at the waist I’m obsessed with the buckles at the end of the sleeves. Overall, a great buy!

Slim Flap Front Computer Bag

So I’m definitely guilty of watching QVC when Rachel Zoe is on and she said that everyone in her office (AKA Camp Zoe) was begging her to design a fashionable yet practical computer bag. And this is what she came up with! I loved this piece so much I ordered it right away (online of course…I don’t think I could get myself to call) in the brown/black. The color shown above is caramel and it comes in black as well. The best part about this computer bag is that it comes with a matching wristlet. A stylish way to carry your laptop + a wristlet for those on-the-go moments…what a great deal!

Slouchy Square Hobo

This is such a great everyday bag. It is practical because it is large enough to hold everything and it’s a great bag that will never go out of style. This bag comes in Burnt Sienna (seen above), Caramel and Black. I really can’t decide which color is my favorite because I just love this bag so much…I love all the colors! The Burnt Sienna is different which I’m really into. It’s a happy color that can immediately brighten your mood.

Tri-Color Bracelet with Crystals

I’ve been obsessed with the gold bracelet Rachel Zoe always wears (see here on her left wrist) since the first time I saw her wear it on the Rachel Zoe Project. Once I saw she made something similar available on QVC, I knew I had to have it. So…I ordered it. It complements any skintone because there’s goldtone, silvertone and rosetone. A 3-in-1 masterpiece!

What do you think of Rachel Zoe for QVC? Do you have any pieces from her collection? If so, which ones do you have & what do you think of them? If not, would you consider ordering any of them? What do you think of my picks? I want to hear from you. Don’t be shy!

Red Carpet Fashion: Best Dressed at the 2010 Oscars

Hollywood’s biggest night and one of fashion’s biggest nights as well…the Oscars / the Academy Awards (whichever you prefer).  There were some fashion don’ts (see Charlize Theron in Dior) but mostly there were a lot of people who looked good but didn’t blow me away. In order to make any of my best dressed lists, you must blow me away…otherwise you’re just “okay dressed” not “BEST dressed.”

I also apologize for this being almost a week late…I was on vacation so you must forgive me 🙂

Here are my best dressed picks for the 2010 Oscars:

Demi Moore in Atelier Versace

She got it all right. The dress is beautiful and fits her perfectly. This blush color is very in for Spring and I love love love it! The jewelry complements the dress perfectly as well as the handbag and shoes. Her hair is loose and flowy like the dress and overall she looks absolutely stunning. And of course…this is all due to the amazing work of her stylist, Rachel Zoe.

Cameron Diaz in Oscar De La Renta

Who doesn’t love some Oscar at the Oscars? Let’s be honest…Cameron could wear a potato sac (see Project Runway challenge) and still look amazing. This dress without Cameron is breathtaking…then put her in it and you have perfection! Her hair is very Old-Hollywood Glam and I love the look topped off with the red nails and red lipstick. Yet another great job by her stylist…Rachel Zoe.

Sandra Bullock in Marchesa

First of all, I would never imagine Sandra Bullock in a Marchesa gown. Marchesa usually goes for very architectural, modern looks and that doesn’t seem to be Sandra’s style. However, this gown fits her body PERFECTLY and she looks STUNNING. The hair totally complements the dress…good idea to wear it down and swept to the side for that Old-Hollywood look. Then top it off with some pinkish-red lips…and you have yourself BEST DRESSED OF THE NIGHT. What a year for Sandra! I’m so happy for her and all of her accomplishments….both fashion and movie related 🙂

PS. Doesn’t her dress remind you of Olivia Wilde in Marchesa at the Emmys?

Zoe Saldana in Givenchy Haute Couture

I saved this for last because this was a very controversial dress. A lot of people hated it but I loved it. It’s very different and I can see where people are coming from BUT I think Zoe can pull it off. I don’t think I would like this gown on anyone else but I thought she looked so beautiful in it. As Jay Manuel said on the Fashion Police, the top is Armani Prive, the middle is Marchesa and the bottom is Oscar De La Renta…as I can see where he’s coming from…I don’t care because I thought she pulled off this look beautifully. Hey, at least she took a risk AND at least she didn’t wear blue. So sick of the Avatar “blue” tribute. Aren’t you?

——————————————-

A tribute to those who almost got it right:

I absolutely LOVED the Armani Prive gown JLo wore…but I didn’t love it on her (loved it on the runway though!) which is why she did not make my best dressed list.

I thought Sarah Jessica Parker looked beautiful. I love [almost] all of the dress…but that backwards halter part of her Chanel Haute Couture gown completely ruined the look. As a strapless gown, it would have been perfect.

Rachel McAdams looked [almost] stunning in her watercolor Elie Saab Haute Couture gown…but the wrapping at the bodice was just a tad short…if it was a few inches longer, it would elongate her torso and she would have looked PERFECT…and she would have definitely made my best dressed list.

——————————————-

So, who were your best dressed picks? Worst dressed? If you don’t agree with mine…that’s okay because I want to hear what you think!

It’s Oscar Night!

It’s about that time…the last hoorah of awards season (and the biggest hoorah of awards season)…the Oscars (or Acadamy Awards if you will). Unfortunately (kind-of) I will be on a plane to Las Vegas today and will not get to watch the most important part of the Oscars–the Red Carpet–but thanks to DVR I will be watching every fashion do and don’t moment Friday night when I return.

Oscar night is where stars get to go all out (and not in crazy outfits like the Grammy’s…that is somewhat acceptable there). The Oscars are all about getting super fancy so if you take too big of a risk or wear too short of a dress…you will be penalized by me, the fashion police, and the world.

Here’s a recap of some of my favorite Oscar moments:

Until then…have a great week everyone! My next post will definitely be my best dressed picks from this year’s Oscars. Get excited!

Celeb Style: Lea Michele

This is a special edition of celeb style featuring Red Carpet looks worn by Lea Michele (AKA Rachel Berry from Glee). Her Red Carpet style keeps getting better and better with each awards show or event she attends and she always look flawless. After watching Glee, it was difficult for me to picture her in anything other than a pleated skirt, an argyle sweater and knee-high socks but WOW…she has blown me away with every look (it doesn’t hurt that she has a rockin’ bod too!) I knew I had to feature Lea’s Red Carpet looks because she made my best dressed list 3 times in a row…and that’s a difficult list to make in the first place 🙂

Here are her most recent (and most fabulous Red Carpet looks):

in Romona Keveza at the Grammy Awards

in Catherine Malandrino at the SAG Awards

in Oscar De La Renta at the Golden Globes

in Isaac Mizrahi at the Fox All-Star Party

in Nuj Novakhett at the People’s Choice Awards

——————————————————–

Because I love Lea’s Red Carpet style so much and I know these looks are not affordable to everyone, I decided to seek out a similar dresses to the ones she’s worn so YOU can get her look for less. How exciting?!

Top Row (left to right): Feather Tutu Dress ($235 at oasis.com), Suzi Chin Maggy Boutique Ruched Jersey Dress ($110 at nordstrom.com), Nika Strapless Ruffled Evening Gown ($420 at edressme.com)

Bottom Row (left to right): Parachute Dress ($36 at asos.com), French Connection Wizard Cotton Dress ($115 at zappos.com)

What do you think of Lea Michele’s Red Carpet looks? Which is your favorite? Would you wear her looks? I want to hear from you!
