Nicolas Ghesquière at Louis Vuitton

In the wonderful game known as fashion musical chairs, a big move was made (or at least FINALLY officially announced) yesterday. After rumors floating around that Nicolas Ghesquière would be taking over for Marc Jacobs at Louis Vuitton…LVMH confirmed that the former creative director of Balenciaga will indeed be heading to LV. So what should we make of all this? Let’s find out.

The Big Discussion: Designer Collaborations

My feelings towards designer collaborations (re: Isabel Marant x H&M, 3.1 Phillip Lim x Target, etc) have been very mixed. There’s been plenty of articles written either for or against them but after reading a certain story on Fashionista.com yesterday it inspired me to think of this debate in a whole new way. This is a big topic in the fashion industry right now so I’d love for you to weigh in.

The One That Got Away

I think we’ve all experienced that “the one that got away feeling.” You finally fall in love, you find “the one” but there’s something about “that one” you feel you have to resist the temptation and just walk away. I’m obviously talking about shopping here. How many times have you seen something you just can’t live without but you look at the price tag and it’s too much or you realize your closet just can’t fit another thing in there? It happens. Sometimes we eventually get over it, sometimes we never do. But either way, we’re going to talk about the one that got away.

The New Cusp at Neiman Marcus

If you’ve been in the Neiman Marcus on Michigan Avenue lately, you may have noticed they’ve been making some changes. The best update they made, though, has to be Cusp (their contemporary floor). It’s well-merchandised, has all my favorite designers, plus it actually looks fun to shop. If you don’t know what I mean, you’re just going to have to make a little visit this week to see for yourself.
