Check out the one I made (inspired by Proenza Schouler of course…)

Not only does Gilt offer great contests, fashion news, and style tips…they of course have some of the best sales you can find online! Check out my favorite sales happening this week.

Zac Posen (2/28)- Zac’s designs are a versatile mix of sophistication and strength. Ruffled silk and pleating showcase bold color choices like citrine yellow and cerulean blue. And curve-hugging fits spice up classic necklines on knit frocks and sheaths.

Tibi (3/1)– High contrast means high style with this pared-down assortment from Tibi. Choose among chic, black and gray separates, like shift dresses, tweed jackets, and cropped pants, or pops of color, like the silk blouses and dresses.

Vintage Rolex (3/2)- A timepiece from this venerable watchmaker is as big a fashion investment as it is a personal asset. Relive the high styles of decades past with this luxurious women’s range, some featuring gold bands and diamond bezels.

Kenneth Jay Lane Jewelry (3/2)– In his 40-year career, jewelry designer Kenneth Jay Lane’s couture baubles have been worn by everyone from the Olsen twins and Madonna to Audrey Hepburn and Elizabeth Taylor. For wild arm candy, look to the double tiger bracelet with crystal accents.

Bright Handbags, Pucci Prints & Oscars Fashion

There are so many great sales happening this week on Gilt…you are going to have a fabulous shopping-filled week! The best part is, all of these items are 50%-70% off retail price, so you don’t have to feel guilty (or shall I say Gilty? Oh yeah I went there)

Check out my favorite sales happening this week on Gilt…

Marc by Marc Jacobs (2/23)–Shop this collection of stylish, perfect-for-layering separates in bright, unexpected colors with a current take on the “retro” aesthetic. Pick up a blazer and some shorts for an on-trend transition-to-Spring look.

Emilio Pucci (2/24)– This assortment includes separates for day, like embellished wrap dresses and belted jersey tops. Find that a little Pucci goes a long way, in the form of a shift adorned only at the elbows, or that a more-is-more attitude works best, evidenced by a floor-length silk chiffon stunner covered entirely in vivid, colorful swirls.

Oscar Sale (2/25)- Celebrate the Academy Awards in Old-Hollywood style. From gorgeous gowns to show-stopping sparklers, this sale has it all. Get red carpet ready with this highly anticipated sale from Gilt.

Handbags: Brights For Spring (2/26)- Spring is right around the corner with its bright soft colors coming soon.  Be prepared to grab a bright Spring bag from your favorite designers like Marc Jacobs, Rebecca Minkoff, and more.

Trends, Style Icons & Wardrobe Essentials

This week on Gilt, you can shop your favorite trends, looks inspired by fabulous style icons, and essential wardrobe pieces…all in one convenient place!

Not only can you shop by designer and get the most amazing pieces for up to 70% off retail prices but you can shop by these hand picked “boutiques,” courtesy of the wonderful Gilt Groupe staff.

In Love With: Fashion Trends Sale Series – Gilt is showcasing some of their favorite trends this year with inspired looks such as Ladylike, The Blues, and The 70s Continues.

Ladylike (2/13)- We probably have a certain ’60s-set tv show to thank for the widespread resurgence of the era’s classically elegant silhouette, but no matter where it came from, this trend works for any season. Think boxy cardigans, curve-hugging sheath dresses, and precious little clutches.

The Blues (2/14)– From deep, saturated indigos to the palest smoky blue, and everything in between, you can choose from an array of blue hues that will instantly add a little something extra to your wardrobe. Slip on a frock in the shade of your choice, or add a pop of the hue to your shoe collection with a fun marine-blue booty or demure navy flat.

The 70s Continues (2/15)- Blousey hippie tops, platform wedges, and slouchy boho bags are just a few of the things that make the ’70s look one of my favorites to wear. Treat yourself to a flatter-all-figures accessory to add some flair to your wardrobe, or go all out with a curvaceous jumpsuit worthy of a full-fledged disco queen.

Style Icons Through the Ages (2/17)- Katharine Hepburn, Grace Kelly, Bianca Jagger, Joan Jett are all style icons that we have admired throughout the years. Now you can shop the look of these fashion inspirations and work their iconic styles into your wardrobe.

Wardrobe Essentials: Everything You Need (2/19)- I’m all for impulsive shopping, but there’s also something to be said for starting the new year off right and hitting the reset button on your wardrobe. Come back to Gilt for all-new style essentials, from the cardigan and everyday dress to the black bag and more.

And now for the designer sales I’m most looking forward to…

See by Chloè (2/14)– Younger sister to the venerable French powerhouse Chloe, See by Chloe features a younger, edgier aesthetic that’s perfect for the rock ‘n’ roll chick with a heart of classic chic.

Reem Acra (2/16)- Acra’s signature intricate beading, ornate embroidery and show-stopping shades make for bold frocks destined to land you best dressed at any event. This sale can help you channel your own star style with embroidered sequins, metallic gowns, and more.

Ted Baker Introduces Spring/Summer 2011 Collection to Chicago

Ted Baker unveiled his first Midwest location at 1009 North Rush Street less than 2 months ago. I was very excited for this store to open because whenever I am in LA I always visit the Ted Baker store on Robertson, and I always pick up some new cool pieces that I can’t find anywhere else.

The new Chicago store highlights the best of English design elements while catering to our city’s ever-changing climate…which I can always appreciate when it comes to Chicago retail stores!

The Spring/Summer 2011 womenswear collection is simple with soft draped silhouettes yet playful with intricate, abstract prints. The menswear collection brings a softer and relaxed edge to traditional tailored looks by featuring offbeat color combinations, vibrant prints, and beautiful textures.

Take a look at some of the looks from Ted Baker Spring/Summer 2011…

For more information visit www.tedbaker.com and if you’re in Chicago, stop by the new location at 1009 North Rush.
