One of the biggest trends seen on the runways for Spring 2013 is simple, straight-forward and a great canvas for fun accessories…it’s black and white. Whether you’re pairing a white top with black pants or going for a black and white printed dress, it’s such a simple trend to incorporate into your wardrobe and it’s one you can start wearing right now!
What better way to kick off the new year than to wear next season’s biggest trend this season?

It’s getting to be my favorite time of year again. Those special months where I can harshly judge the dresses celebrities/their stylists so carefully choose, where we completely disregard any acting skills whatsoever and only focus on the clothes…it’s almost awards season.
Because the Golden Globes still seem so far away (January 13 can’t come soon enough) I just spent way too much time on Style.com figuring out what looks I’d like to see on the red carpet this weekend. I was pretty disappointed in last year’s Golden Globes fashion (Sarah Michelle Gellar’s ink-stained gown, Mila Kunis’s downfall after Black Swan and Amanda Peet’s Bo Peep moment) so I’m hoping to see some redemption on the red carpet this Sunday.

I mentioned yesterday on Instagram that I’m trying something different today on ChiCityFashion. Normally my What Why Where posts are shot outside, but considering it’s in the low 30s [on a good day] I’m giving an indoor shoot a shot. Seriously, I don’t know how personal style bloggers who live in cold weather conditions do this on a daily.
As much as I joke about New Years resolutions, the ones I posted earlier this week are sort of true. They are things I’d like to accomplish but if it doesn’t all happen in 2013 I’m not going to freak out about it (plus I know I’m going to have difficulty with resolution 4).
So let’s take baby steps and visit resolution 2: up the beauty routine.
