I don’t know how it happened but it seems like a denim explosion is upon us. Not black denim, not white denim…just good old fashion blue jeans. When you think of the word, denim…what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Pants / jeans, right? (I’ll also accept the answer of Britney and Justin circa 2001). But there’s so much more to this classic material (that just so happens to be extra trendy right now) than a pair of pants…
It’s A Match!
Today’s topic of discussion is no new trend (like Drake saying “no new friends” but replace friends with trends…you feel me?) The matching set is something our mothers wore back in the day, when people actually bought “outfits.” Then for so long, any sort of matching looked like you were trying too hard (especially if there’s any pairing of a red bag with red shoes…something I despise to this day). Now there’s this new way of matching, and it seems to be sticking around for quite a while.
Best Of Coachella
There are two types of people in this world [that don’t go to Coachella] — you’re either endlessly scrolling through your Instagram crying on the inside with an extreme case of FOMO or you think the event consists of a bunch of posers who don’t even care about the music and you prefer more intimate concerts anyway. Regardless, let’s see what everyone wore this year. Shall we?
Are You #Trending?
I have a love / hate relationship with regards to discussing trends. It’s sort of part of my job to share them but at the same time, I don’t want you to think for a second that you have to wear them. You never want to look overly trendy, but if there’s something that happens to be on trend that speaks to you, by all means GO FOR IT. So today, let’s find out what’s especially on trend now (including one I actually despise), if you’re actually going to wear these things and how you’re going to wear them. Ready?
Architecture & Fashion
Chicago may not be a fashion capital [just yet] but what we are known for is having crazy unpredictable weather, deep dish pizza and ridiculously amazing architecture. Now you may not think that has anything to do with the way we dress (referring to the architecture…not necessarily the pizza, although I do have my designated “eating pants”) but what if I told you it actually does?
