Cee Lo at Macy’s Passport Presents Glamorama

One of my first major events as a blogger was attending Macy’s Presents Glamorama last summer. It was such a fun event…and it looks like it’s going to be even bigger and better this year. It was just announced that Cee Lo Green and Far East Movement will be performing at the event on Friday, August 12 at the Chicago Theatre.

This year’s theme for Glamorama is ARTRAGEOUS, where attendees can view looks from top designers like Jean Paul Gaultier, Marc Jacobs, Sonia Rykiel and more. The best part? The event benefits the Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland® and Northwest Indiana.

Planning on attending? Be sure to get your tickets early! They’re available at www.ronaldhousechicago.org and will be availble June 8th at www.thechicagotheatre.com or by calling Ticketmaster, 1-800-745-3000.

Topman Opens Pop-Up Shop in Space519

As you all probably know by now, Topshop/Topman will be opening on Michigan Avenue this September. I don’t know about you but I can’t wait! Good news for the boys…Topman will be opening a pop-up shop in Space519 starting Friday, June 3 all the way through the end of July.

Pieces will range from t-shirts to penny loafers and suiting to swim, all from Topman’s latest collection.

So stop by Space519 in the 900 Shops (900 N. Michigan Avenue) to shop Topman styles before the official store opening this Fall!

Minimal Baroque: A Work Of Art

As some of you know, I’ve been obsessed with the Prada Baroque sunglasses since I saw them on the runway back in September. When I found out they’d be available for a limited edition run, I did whatever I could to be sure I got a hold of these avant-garde sunnies.

Thankfully, I was successful!

I was so excited when I came across these photos of various illustration collaborations, all focused on these amazing sunglasses.

My favorite is the one by Mattia Buffoli (obviously…it involves food). What do you think? Which one is your favorite?

Growing Works 2011

I posted about the highly anticipated event Laundry Magazine’s Growing Works about 3 weeks ago, and the time has finally come. On Tuesday night I attended the Growing Works show at the gorgeous Garfield Park Conservatory. This was my first time at this venue and it’s the perfect space to host a fashion show. I know this event has been in the works (no pun intended) for quite some time…and it definitely paid off. It’s so great to provide an event for local young talent to showcase their designs and what better company to host this event than Laundry Magazine? Be sure to check out the full list of designers and their profiles from the show.

Check out my pre-show photos…
