Have a Stylish Earth Day

You know how you wake up on January 1 and feel like you’re really going to commit to your new years resolutions this year (post-hangover of course)? And then by the next week, you’ve already forgotten about them. That’s kind of like what Earth Day is; you’ll try to commit to taking shorter showers and turning the lights off when you leave the room…but then it completely slips your mind on any day that’s not Earth Day. Nothing to be ashamed of. I drive a 2002 Toyota 4Runner…and trust me, it ain’t no Prius.

So to celebrate this wonderful holiday, I thought the Chanel Fall 2013 globe clutch would be the perfect image to get us started. After all, it is Karl’s world…and we’re all just living in it.

Street Where

Streetwear…street where? Confused? Me too. Let’s continue.

It seems as of late that streetwear has become somewhat of a trend. Varsity jackets, sneakers, flat brim hats…you know you’ve seen that all over the street style blogs. What I find most interesting is that this is a trend I’ve seen in the streets but not so much on the runways. So where exactly did it come from? ChiCityFashion investigates.

All White Everything

Probably one of the ballsiest moves you can make in fashion is wearing an all white outfit. Not because it looks crazy, or people think it’s unflattering (which isn’t completely true) but because you need to be on alert the entire day. Things I suggest not doing in all white: sitting anywhere, leaning against anything, and drinking red wine (definitely the toughest for me). But if you’re up for the challenge, it can really pay off. I mean…how awesome do all these ladies look?

Fashion Week Australia

Ever since a trip to Australia nearly three years ago, I quickly grew fond of all things Aussie — food (excluding Vegemite), accents, exotic animals and of course fashion. It started with some boutiques I enjoyed shopping at and it turned into a full on obsession with stalking Australian designers. And with Fashion Week Australia coming to a close last week, I thought I’d take this opportunity to talk about some designers I especially fancied for Fall 2013.
