What do you think of the CFDA awards red carpet so far? I hope you’re not bored yet (how can you ever be when it comes to judging celebrity fashion though?)
Onto part 2…

This really is my week, isn’t it? Finishing up Cannes (although it really ended last week…I was just a little late in the game) and now the CFDA Awards. After coming off of such a fabulous red carpet (but what isn’t fabulous in the south of France, really?) it’s disappointing to see such underwhelming styles at an actual fashion event. Last year was no exception. I only fancied Erin Heatherton in Michael Kors and Zoe Saldana in Prabal Gurung but that’s about it. I know the Met Gala is the biggest fashion red carpet of the year, but wouldn’t you think the CFDA Awards would be a close second?
Okay less ranting, more judging.

Because Cannes is the red carpet that never ends (but it finally ended last week) it’s time to round up the final looks of the film festival, including the closing ceremonies and the amfAR gala. Besides the Oscars and the Met Ball of course, this is one my favorite red carpet events. The fact that it’s in France definitely brings out more fashion (maybe we should have the Oscars in Paris next year)…and I appreciate any red carpet that’s not full of sparkly strapless gowns. You know how those thrill me.
Be sure to check out part 1 (which includes Julianne Moore’s toe scandal) and now, let’s move on to part 2.
Jessica Chastain in Saint Laurent
Cannes is like the Oscars’ cool older [French] sister. Celebrities gather to celebrate great films, but really they just want to out-do each other in the best borrowed gowns they can find.
Now I don’t think anyone can top Diane Kruger from last year; she just killed it one look after the next. BUT I have high hopes for this year. Let’s see who’s wearing what…
Zoe Saldana in Valentino
We’ve discussed the not so punk and the almost punk from last night’s Met Gala…but what about the punkest of them all? These ladies BROUGHT IT. Not saying they all should have (I’m talking to you, Madonna) but I appreciate the effort.
For the last and final Met Gala post of 2013…
