It was a good run, guys. In case you haven’t heard, Marc Jacobs just left Louis Vuitton after being their Creative Director for 16 years. His recent collection that showed just yesterday at Paris Fashion Week was his last. From pajama dressing to fur in some interesting places, and everything in between, we’re throwing back this Thursday to look at Marc’s evolution at Louis Vuitton.
Throwback Thursday: Front Row At Fashion Week
With New York Fashion Week coming to a close but fashion month nowhere near the end, this seemed like the perfect opportunity for a fashion week themed Throwback Thursday. But even better than that, we’re going to take a look at the front row specifically — where it started, where it went, and where it is now. Let’s just say things get interesting circa 2002.
Throwback Thursday: Vogue
I hope you all enjoyed my first Throwback Thursday feature because the new CCF tradition is carrying on today. This time I decided not to do another designer but the most iconic fashion magazine instead (can’t you see I’m in the mag mood this week?) We all associate Vogue with Anna Wintour, but a lot was happening at the publication before her signature bob took over as EIC in 1988.
Let’s dig in.
Throwback Thursday: Prabal Gurung
This year, I’ve introduced two new categories to ChiCityFashion (What Why Where and Chi City’s Most Stylish) and because we’re well more than half way through 2013, I thought another new topic was in order. Nothing feels better than reminiscing and feeling a bit nostalgic, right? I’ll leave it to Buzzfeed to give me lists of things I miss about the 90s so I’m going to do something a little different. Today will be my first installment of a new feature — Throwback Thursday (not to be confused with #tbt on Instagram). I’m going to start with past collections from designers and who knows what will stem from that. And because I thought my first TBT would be way too predictable if I chose Proenza, today is all about Prabal Gurung.
