I don’t wear dresses all that often, so when I do…I like to make it count. And I think a blue fringe maxi definitely counts for something. Don’t you?
Warning: theres a lot of twirling in this post. How could I resist?
WHAT (am I wearing):
Dress: Proenza Schouler. Sunglasses: Zac Posen x Illesteva. Sandals: Proenza Schouler. Earrings: Catbird, Gabriela Artigas, Elise Dray.
WHY (am I wearing it):
Not only am I not in a dress everyday, I’m even more rarely in a maxi dress. For the most part, they’re just not my thing — they’re either too boho or too fancy (although I think I put together a pretty well-balanced look last time I wore one…if I do say so myself). I loved this Proenza fringe dress since I first saw it on the runway, but I never thought anything of it…as it’s not necessarily the most practical purchase. But when it went on sale (and discounted about three times) I decided it was meant to be. Now this dress can go either way — I would wear it to a more formal event with open toe heels in some form (most likely these) but I like to get as much use out of my clothes as possible. I figure I’d wear this more often with flat sandals, like I did here, or maybe even with sneakers (which I might try next!) When I got the dress, I thought it would be a little too over the top to wear for day, but it goes to show that with a little creative styling you can get a lot more use out of your closet than you think you can!
