With all the events that go on during the week, I take the weekends to just chill, cuddle with my dog, eat ridiculous amounts of food, and thanks to this new collaboration launching today…try out some beauty products.
I already told you how I feel about designer collaborations, however my feelings aren’t the same towards beauty collabs (mostly because there’s not as many and they’re definitely not made of less quality unlike their fashion counterparts).
Over the weekend I found out that Glossybox (an online beauty subscription service) would be collaborating with Net-a-Porter (the best website ever) and I even got to try out one of the boxes myself. I originally planned on trying a few of the products each day throughout the week but between the brands I’ve always wanted to try and lines I’ve never heard of that I wanted to know more about, basically my bedroom turned into beauty floor of a department store and it was a mess damn good time.
I’ve never used any beauty subscription service myself (mostly because the amount of samples/travel size products I have are enough to get me through my travels until I’m at least 30) but when it comes with brands like Natura Bissé and Kevyn Aucoin, it’s that Net-a-Porter touch I just can’t resist. A typical Glossybox is $21 for five products but this limited edition box is $40 for eight products and is exclusively sold on Net-a-Porter (note I used my 2 favorite phrases in one sentence — “limited edition” + “exclusive” — you can sell me anything using those two, really). It’s nice to have some full size products like the RGB cuticle oil, Ellis Faas mascara and Kevyn Aucoin eyeshadow to use everyday but also some smaller size items for travel, like the Natura Bissé Diamond White cream, Klorane dry shampoo (which is really awesome, especially coming from someone who can never find a good dry shampoo), Phillip B hair gel, Avène Thermal Spring Water Spray, and Joya Âmes Sœurs perfume. I was most excited to see something from Avène. I tried a few products from the brand while in Europe this September and I’ve never seen it anywhere in the states. I’ve also always had a thing for water sprays (it all started with those Evian cans) so I’d say this was my favorite product in the box.
Ever since I was in high school I’ve always loved discovering under-the-radar beauty brands (re: last week’s post) and using new products (if anyone remembers Raizy on Damen…that place was my jam) so this Glossybox x Net-a-Porter collaboration is just perfect. Think of it as a mid-season beauty gift to yourself (after all, our skin can always use a pick-me-up around this time of year…at least mine can!)
Glossybox for Net-a-Porter is available exclusively on Net-a-Porter.com starting TODAY so if you get one, you have to tell me your favorite item in the box. Have you tried any of these products before? Do you currently subscribe to Glossybox? What do you think of this type of collaboration? TELL ME YOUR FEELINGS in the comments.

I’m a sucker for beauty collaborations and as a huge Net-A-Porter fan I’d say this one is definitely worth a try. That eye shadow and Avene product are reason enough to order.
Thanks for sharing!
