What Why Where: Knit Jumpsuit

Still trying to figure out what to wear during this awkward time where the weather fluctuates between spring and winter on the daily? A knit jumpsuit may be the answer to all of our problems…

Just like wine and shopping (and sometimes both simultaneously), a jumpsuit solves everything.

WHAT (am I wearing):
Coat: Isabel Marant. Jumpsuit: Eleven Six. Shoes: Paul Andrew. Hat: Maison Michel. Sunglasses: Celine. Choker: Are You Am I.

WHY (am I wearing it):
You know those days you’re just craving a certain item in your closet? This was a day where I had to wear a knit jumpsuit…I just had to! (clearly I love a onesie created in sweater materials…who wouldn’t?!) Most likely because I had just gotten this particular one at space519 BUT that’s not the only reason — it’s also insanely comfortable and ideal for this in-between weather. The temperature this day was around 50 degrees so I opted for a lighter-weight coat. I’ve had this Marant coat for a long time and it’s really my go-to when transitioning seasons like this. Plus, it happens to go very well with a knit jumpsuit. Now this one-piece can easily look very casual…almost like pajamas. So I had to find a way to make it a little more polished. I could have worn heels but you know me (I now avoid them as much as possible) and these Paul Andrew flats are the perfect happy medium. Finally, I have a point! I love these shoes because they give the effect of a pointed toe pump without the discomfort (plus he’s a designer to watch with his CFDA Award nominee this year…so I wanted to support the team). Literally topping it all off with Maison Michel because…do you need a reason? MAISON MICHEL IS ALWAYS A GOOD IDEA.

Of course this isn’t the only way to do a knit jumpsuit – wear with a leather jacket and pointed toe pumps for an elevated effortless look, a bomber and booties for a casual day-to-night vibe, and if you happen to catch a day where you don’t need any outerwear (gasp!) — no coat + sneakers = my life.
