With yesterday being the first day of Spring (which in Chicago doesn’t mean much, it’s just a little less Winter…and that’s only if we’re lucky), I thought I’d try an unconventional look for the new season. A bit sporty, a little fancy and a whole lotta OMG I’M SHOWING SOME SKIN AND NOT TOTALLY FREEZING.
Under The Sea
Every season, I come across a random trend or two that always surprises me, yet is comforting because it’s reassurance that fashion is indeed fun (i.e. owls and Star Wars). I hope we have some Little Mermaid / Red Lobster fans in the house (which may even be one in the same) because I sea a new trend surfacing…
The Bag Edit
I thought about doing one of those “what’s in my bag?” posts then I realized it wouldn’t be that exciting. Why? (besides the fact that keys and lip balm probably don’t have you at the edge of your seat).
With bags getting smaller and smaller (remember, size matters) I’ve learned to carry only the absolute necessities. So I thought I’d combine two posts in one (because there’s only so much I can talk about pressed powder and hand lotion) for the ultimate bag edit.
The Skinny On Magazines
How do you take your fashion magazines? Model? Celebrity? Or neither? (Because really, those are your only two options).
The “let’s use more plus sized models” and “stop Photoshop” conversations are still happening but after an interview with Vogue UK‘s EIC Alexandra Shulman over the weekend, there’s a lot more to talk about.
Sweatpants in Public
You know the rule — no sweatpants in public (unless you’re in college…then I guess you have four years to be the exception). But fashion doesn’t seem to follow the rules anymore. You can wear white after labor day, you can most definitely wear navy and black together and now you can wear sweatpants in public.
