Now that we’re about a week into August, it means it’s time to enjoy the final days of summer (in Chicago that could even be this weekend), prep for back to school (ah, those were the days) and read all the September issues as they’re released throughout the month. Elle went with Kristen Stewart for their big issue and took quite the literal inspiration from Chanel Fall 2014 for the editorial spread. But it’s not like this whole supermarket theme is anything new…

In fashion, everyone hopes to be make the best dressed list. It feels nice that someone not only acknowledges your style but actually appreciates it…and when that someone is Vanity Fair, you really need no further validation.
Us fashion folks love to talk about “looks for less” and “splurge-worthy items” but how do we know when it’s really worth it? One rule of thumb is if you can wear the piece day or night and/or in any season, it’s probably worth the investment (as long as it’s not a super trend — I’m talking to you sneaker wedges).
