Well at least for the next week or so. We’ll see about after that.
Last week I shared an exciting designer collaboration — Charlotte Olympia and Tom Binns (which is now available online by the way) — that’s celebrating the Met’s latest exhibit and theme for this year’s Met Ball, Punk: Chaos to Couture. A few questions to ask yourselves here…1) Will people actually be wearing punk-inspired looks on the Met Ball red carpet this coming Monday? 2) Is punk actually back? If so, to what extent? and 3) Are you aware that a leather chandelier exists? More about that later.
Because Moda Operandi is at the top of their fashion game, they launched an exclusive punk-inspired shop today. No matter what your style (even if it’s extremely feminine and you’re like “punk, what?”) you’ll appreciate this shop. And if you like leather, you’re going to freak out…there’s a lot of it. Some notable items: a leather chandelier (as previously mentioned), a guitar signed by the Ramones (you don’t even have to like fashion to shop this collection), chain gloves (you say why? I say why not?), a graffiti Kelly (the only graffiti bag that might out-do my PS1), and a studded helmet…with feathers.
Whether you have less than $100 to spend or $40,00 to spend, you can find something badass to add to your collection. Plus, you don’t even have to be all that into fashion…but you should at least like art. If you don’t like either of those things, I’m not even sure why you’re on my site (but I appreciate the traffic).
Here’s a look at some of my favorite items currently available in Moda Operandi’s Punk Shop.
Any favorites? Are you down with the punk revival?
I’m not sure how I feel about it just yet!
